Some photos I've seen of UK beaches over the past few days look like those African wildlife documentaries where you see a vast herd of migrating wildebeast piling on one another as they try to pluck up the courage to cross a river, and trampling each other to death in the process!

when you are acclimatised to 22F summers its a huge difference.. Its too hot for me too,far too hot and in a place where we get over 45C. Coober Pedy has the answer.

Yeah, I guess I can see that. It just leaves me a little shocked though. Montana gets down to -20F in the winter, and 105F in the summer, so I guess we're just acclimatized to a broader range (but yeah, I can't tolerate the heat like I used to either).

Even in sunny southern California, it'll get below freezing in the winter, and well over 100F (usually by the first week of June, but this year has been mild, and it's only gotten to 98F thus far).

IDK, I think the media overhype the weather these days, issuing "heat warnings" for temps that were once considered just normal summer heat.

It often gets to 36C here in the Austrian Alps in High summer. But on Sunday me and my other half did a 163km bike ride on the Alp Adria trail with some gravel sections from the border down to the Italian Adriatic coast and it hit 33C Even with1.5lts of drink each and multiple beer stops we were a bit dehydrated by the time we arrived. Lovely rest day swimming etc on Monday before a shorter ride day and train home.

My relative who I visited last winter(Oz summer) is on a 6500km road trip at the moment. He used to oversee security and day to day stuff in Hamilton island and is having a bit of a trip to see his old haunts fronhis home in Adelaide. Sent me this photo of Cardwell this morning. 24C in winter. About right for me in summer never mind winter.....

He was supposed to be here in Europe on a cruise around the Med and visiting my sister in Nice instead, until the orange man baby f*cked it all up..... and stuff got cancelled.
