So, im looking to buy a Acc elite direct from MDT canada.
when i put it in my basket it shows, converted to £££ £1160 for the chassis, £20 shipping, £242 tax and £75 duties,
is that all i will pay, nothing to pay this end is there?? a grand total of £1496 making it far cheaper to buy than getting one here and having to wait 2 months,

thanks.

Have you added up the tax correctly? You’ll pay about 4% import duty, 20% VAT on the retail price, shipping and the duty.

And ask them not to use UPS, they’re a nightmare for forearms components

I have read that about UPS👍

Essentially they treat anything firearms related as a firearm. They will not deliver the stock until either you send them a copy of your FAC, or, after a series of email arguments, they will eventually send you a form they call a RIF form, which they need you to fill in before they’ll release the stock.

Oh, the Canadian side of UPS will do exactly the same before they will send it to the U.K. side. It took me two weeks of backwards and forwards to get a rail for my CZ457 out of their grubby mits lol

well that sound like a bit of a joke, i will see if they will send it with someone else, but i think it doubtful, and very much unlike me, im in no rush this time as, so i guess a small hold up wont be much of a problem,

If you’re in no rush and are prepared to put up with their BS, you should be OK.

But I would confirm with them the taxes first.

When ordering through mdt direct app customs, duties etc are sorted there end in the price you pay. I've ordered two chassis from them. As above ups will want some paperwork and a copy of your fac.

iv been on email with the Canadian one a few times now so she knows im in the UK, and i explained the situation with UPS delivering to the UK,
it did seem like an American postal service when she mentioned it,

From there chat bot, its making me not want to bother

  • Since it's an international order, an export permit and End-User Agreement are required. That can add 14-45 days to the shipment timeline.
  • We'll expedite it as fast as we can on our end.

I purchased a sweat top and magazine from mdt when I was in the UK...MDT did their bit perfectly fine, UPS however wanted to know the ins and outs of a maggots arsehole! I mean they wanted to know and have a declaration that the sweat top was not a Firearm component!?!?!?! Ever heard of anyone being shot by a hoodie?? Hoodlums yes, hoodies, no!

MDT are good to go but their hands are tied with red tape, I am just so glad I am Canada side now 👍🏻

UPS held up a recoil lug from.MDT and wanted a RIF..............🙄 As it was sent gratis by MDT, I told them to shove it......and keep it........turned up about 2 days later.

For a 6mm BR mag and GRND bipod purchased in the MDT sale, it took them about 3 weeks to realise they weren't a 'firearm'......that needed a declaration to MDT before posting and setting out specific parts of EAR to UPS.

Fed-Ex are even worse. A personal import of a mount resulted in them telling me they were going to inform the NCA I was attempting to illegally import firearm components.

You can save a few bob, but at the cost of several hours on emails explaining ITAR and EAR to them and your blood pressure.

Most MDT parts I’ve had sent to me was with UPS, it’s a absolute nightmare, I had a part sent to me for a bipod recently and they wanted copy of firearms certificate, and had forms to fill out before I received the item.
