Gamekeeping

I have some DOC traps in and around the pens mate

I have also dropped the wire to the floor and have radio on and flashing lights - i now realise though these stoats will be killing out as well as in
I have had this problem.

When you find a freshly killed poult leave it where it is.
Move the DOC trap to the kill site
Put the corpse into one end of the box and block off the access so that the stoat has to pass over the plate from the other end to get at it.
(Works best when the end of the trap is wire mesh rather than solid.)
Leave it for a couple of days at least.
Only clear up when maggots appear.
If no show it has probably killed another somewhere that it is feeding off.
When you find it move the box and start again.

Works 9 times out of 10.

Most I caught doing this was 14!!! Obviously a couple of litters.

A lot quieter around the poults than a shotgun.

Thanks mate
Thats exactly what i have done but didnt have any joy as they seemed to be killing several at once rather than killing one and eating it
I seem to have managed to keep them out of the pen but while checking for foxes last night saw 4 on some fox bait - i got one of them with the rifle - back tonight with the shotty tonight to hopeful sort that litter of them
Shame they are so bad as watching them zoom about is incredible actually

As far as the occasional shot around the pen is concerned. I never found the poults paid any attention to it.

Yes i tend to agree - however im not sure it would be a good idea when they have gone to roost as i believe i may push some out that then may not roost but just jug

That's when you have to leave your underpants there for the night.
They'll keep everything away except badgers, they'll eat your pants considering them a delicacy.
