Why do people ********?

The best way to catch these people out is to ask "what bullet weight do you find works best?"
Suddenly they develop a stutter and come out with something like "half ounce" :D

another good one is "Really?... and what's the drop at that distance?"

I once met a guy who asked me to pick up a box of mildots.

have you got his contact details i will try and book with him as i struggle at 120 yrds ha ha

i think he,s full of bull

when i first started out deer stalking ,i once went out stalking with a self confessed pro[a game keepers son] ,he talked a good game ,he shot a muntjac at 60yrds in the chest ,didnt hit the boiler room but shot both front legs
he then proceeded to dispatch it with the rifle at 1ft away LOOKING through the scope ,needless to say he misted with the first 3 shots:(
once he had killed it he proceeded to gut it out,i told him i had shot a few deer and loved eating the liver
he handed me 3/4 of it after he cut it away THEN he spent the next 2 to 3 min looking over the guts hanging out of the carcass ,i presumed he was checking it over
for ill health ,when i asked him to explain what he was doing he told me he was LOOKING FOR THE OTHER LIVER FOR ME
i didn't go out with him again

Ida's chatting to this guy once whom had been to Africa hunting a dozen times or more' shot every thing ppossible and one night while having dinner on the porch with his wife, a male baboon jumped up on to the table and snatched the wife's hand bag and his steak of his plate, I said what happened next! He reply'ed. I stood up and knocked the baboon clean out!! I still laugh to this day about this and that was 10 years back.

These are the same guys who shoot sub 1" groups at 400yds off the bonnet of their car in 30mph cross winds

Ian.
Can't you? i can actually do 1/2 moa but that is using my .17 hmr as it is so flat shooting, and i have to fit the scope to get below the inch at 400 metres:rofl:

It only takes a second to realise you are in the company of a idiot..less time to know the only thing they shoot is them selves in the foot from a lot less than 1200m .the best way to deal with them is to smile as you slowly back away , leaving them to think they have seriously impressed you !.....sad b......s

It's an illness !! The need to exaggerate the truth, in their eyes it was real and they convince themselves over and over again and it's then their reality .********itus the technical term .

A guy in school once told us that his dad was a harrier pilot during the falklans, but still managed to shoot 3 Argentinas during the same conflict, with a weapon system that had yet to be issued.

My favourite , however, is the gentlemen who struggle to walk the length of our 200m range, yet they shoot triple the number of deer you see in a year with their 20 lb "stalking" rifle which is far better than your 30-06 because it cause every dear and I mean everyone "drops on the spot".
But the winner was a guy that bet me 100 quid that his .223 could out group mine. He declined when I protested about him strapping it into a weighted rest and suggested we used sticks...

Good man highseat, you did the right thing here. Poor choice of words, but I think we knew the type of person you were referring to.
Appologies to this forum for my inapropriate comment , it was not intended to offend
