Rifle and Scope

What is a middle range make of a good riffle and scope.

Many thanks
I use a tikka 595 with a 7x50 meopta scope I paid 700 for 3 years ago and I now have a new tikka lite in 6.5x55 with an 8x56 smit and bender great rifles that get the job done

Yep I agree Tikka T3 with schmidt and bender 8x56 scope in 6.5x55 great combo for not a huge amount of money....

Tikka / Leupold works for me. There is a BRNO rifle in .308 all set up and ready to go in classified. Don't think you will find anyone here with a bad word to say about BRNO. Damned good work horse rifles.

This-----^

I hunted Europe and Africa with a Tikka 690 and meopta 7x50 that IanF of this board found for me for £400.

That guy has saved me a pile of cash in speculative rifle purchases over the years with that move, the only change is an illuminated 7x50 Zeiss for the original meopta.

thought i just sold a tikka 595 with a zeiss duralyt on it, seems not ??..........................

dropped all i have pointed it at apart from a 8" steel plate at 500 yards, ;) made it ring but its still hanging on the chain :)

bob.

Thank you biker1,mongoose.Also paul o, what is the make of .308;
have sako 85 SS but there are some very good used tikka's out there,i have one in .243 love it . have alook on this site or ask what rifle would you or have you and why ? then make a choice of your own . my choice i would not have a rem 700 but i have pals who would not have a sako ?? save up get one that you wish golden rule buy cheap buy twice ?
same on glass and mounts have fun do't rush ,if there is a range nr you go and have a looksee some dealers have try before you buy and thats always worth a visit :tiphat:

Older tikka's 595-695 or a 75 sako they are considered miles better than the newer versions, handle one shoot one and the difference will be very apparent, Remmy 700 if you want to semi custom it in the future then its a good choice, I have had and used T3's enough said, Have a semi custom 700 but that route is not for everyone and mines a keeper, Tikka 695-595 would be my choice, grab one quickly because prices are only going to go up, 695 a dream action.

Tikka 595 in .308, topped with a mid range s/h Leupold VX-III would be my choice. I have one for clients to use and it works great, it has a touch of class yet is sensibly priced - so I do not have to worry too much about other people using it....
