Potential new stalking show

Thanks for giving us the opportunity to get involved and help you get it right, straight out of the box

Fully agree with what everything that has already been mentioned, and I'd like to add one request:
I really don't want to see 1200yd shots on muntjac, or boar taken with a sword - all to a death metal soundtrack. "Team Wild" can do their thing, and we can do ours...

I might be in the minority, but that's my choice

Cheers

I don't know Iain, I do think that some scenes would be greatly enhanced by the gravelly sound of Lemmy Kilminster of Motorhead singing "Killed by death".

While some times it is important to see the money shot if that shot look!! bad it might be an idea not to show it. I do know camera angles lie but people especially young mimic what they see.

Would it be a idea especially for the newcomers to the sport to reflect the true costs of stalking ?,i.e a mornings stalk with Mr x costs y with bucks costing z e.t.c.

Tamus,
It all comes down to funding I guess. Once you sell out to a big name you are in their pocket. We will be self funding this project and I`m not even advertising my own stalking through it. It`s for stalkers by stalkers and we will attempt to remain impartial and fresh for as long as possible. The down side is that we won`t be off on 5* shooting breaks with brand new kit but who lives that life anyway?

So making something like this wouldn't interest you?

Isn't franz-Albrecht "spectacular" here?

What do you think will get the hits on youtube? .... doing it like the above or joe bloggs coming home empty handed half the time... and maybe having the odd runner or double top, not according to plan?

No Heavy Metal I promise! First show - We were thinking a simple inrto to your hosts (Myself and Lee) with a rundown of the used kit we have which you will see used in subsequent shows but no need to labour on about it. Some nice atmospheric cut-aways and a country ways type sound track. Sound good??

Every so often, art students or people doing photography or cinematography projects introduce themselves on this site and are generally received with suspicion. May I suggest perhaps picking up with one or two of them? They may not know much about stalking, but there's a good chance they know more than us about making a film. I'd also suggest that you fit the soundtrack to the footage and use it sparingly to enhance relevant scenes. I think that perhaps the sound of nature should be the main soundtrack. With an exception for the Motorhead bits.

Take a look at the old stalking videos titled classic deer stalking top notch stuff
when do we expect the first show? best fo luck with it
Glendine.

Tamus,
We`d all love to film the clips you posted or even be doing it ourselves. Have I missed your point somewhere? I`m just looking to give the UK stalkers a show they can enjoy without all the crap that seems to come with the current offerings...

Clearly you have missed my point. I thought I had been clear enough but evidently I have not.

Stalking is not really a "spectator" sport. Long may it stay that way.

PM, as I started to read your post, my mind wandered and I thought of that lovely programme "passion for angling" lo and behold, great minds think alike, even my wife loved that programme!

Alex

This and Pine Marten's post hits the carp on the head so to speak as oh how I crave a UK hunting with a rifle publication that comes close to the "Waterlog" magazine published by the Medlar Press.

I find most UK shooting magazines to be about as much use to a 'sensitive' woodland stalker as a chocolate teapot!

Ok but people obviously want to see different styles and methods, perhaps it`s because they don`t have access to stalking like we have or just curiosity. Am I wrong for wanting to open things up a bit? Not wanting an argument I just think we could all benefit if it`s done right.

I wouldn't really want to watch a programme that just shows things that I can do anyway, exactly as they are. Which is why I don't understand British soap operas which just present a worse version of life. I want to see things that make me daydream a bit!

That's why I`ve started this thread so people can tell me a) if it`s worthwhile b) what content they would like. Thanks for your input so far...
