which multitool?

never carry one stalking but prefer the gerber, as they are one handed operation for the pliers.

Leatherman any day.
Had a supertool, used it so much that I broke it.
5 years later sent it to Leatherman who said they don't make that model anymore so..............here's a brand new updated version to replace yours.

I was given my Victorinox swiss tool by a friend whom is heavily into big boys' toys. He could not make up his mind whether he preferred the Leatherman or the Swisstool so he bought them both, but on the way home decided he liked the single handed thumb opening blade of the Leatherman so gave the Swisstool to me, partly because I had done him a favour and partly out of guilt at the indulgence of having both!

I have to say I am very pleased with his choice because I prefer the weight and robustness of the Swisstool. I have used every tool on it over the years, its been brilliant. From repeatedly fixing an Austin Seven which kept conking out on a snowy New Years Day trip over the Yorkshire Dales to cutting free a couple of sheep caught in brambles (one when stalking in Sussex, one when beating in Gloucestershire).

I use a leatherman wingman, pliers not as strong as the more expensive models but at £35 I'm a bit less bothered when i inevitably lose it.
I still have somewhere an early leatherman that was dropped in a pig yard, went through the muck spreader and was found many years later by a guy with a metal detector, still functions perfectly
