I've one, wouldn't have another. They are good value on the pennies front.

22-25 mpg on mud wellies just changed AT's be interesting to see what on them.
You can weigth up in the back with show to loaded.
Started self employment with mine could of done without it.
Reiable enough can't fault mine, new rear spring and heavy duty clutch.
Inter-cooler hump ideal for resting rifle on with bag.
Seating postion rubbish and i am quite sort.

If landrover did some the same with same tub and affordable i would buy one those, they don't so i'll stick with mine. Even though i don't rate very high, there's nothing fundametally wrong it, I just thick they are over rated.

Quite a lot of rose tinted glasses then? If the OP only wanted positive comments why did he bother posting? L200's snap springs from new and if used off road the outdated rear brake drums will eventually sieze up from ingress of mud and water but if they are used as posing chariots then they will be fine. Round here they are the choice of poachers.

As I said... Ive had 4 of them.....only broke springs on one of them and that was after 50,000 miles and lots of heavy load work; not snapped springs on the other 3 (newer styles). Mine get serious off roaded and lots of through water etc....NEVER had the rear brakes seize.
Not sure why 'Red Dot' thinks they are a posing vehicle ? ... Id have thought a Ferarri was more suited !
Im talking from experience ..... has 'Red Dot' ever owned one or is he another armchair internet 'expert' ?

We run one and its a nice truck but we also run an isuzu rodeo and the L200 has a "cheap" feel to it in comparison. That tinny sound when you shut the door, the fact the seats come away from the frame, the appalling dashboard that comes down into your knee caps if you are taller than 5ft, and the rear passenger leg room is poor.
Fuel economy is poor - 26mpg in L200, while the isuzu returns 35 with ease.
Engine noise is really noticeable in the L200 as well, and there isn't a lock on the rear tail gate if you get a canopy it won't be theft proof.
One thing i do like about the L200 is the rear window between the back seats drops which really ventilates the cabin well as an alternative to having the window open if you're not using the air con (if you've got it)

Red dot is right about the rear drums on the l200 they do seize up if used off road. Isuzu also has drums on rear but we havent had any problems with them and they both do their fair share of dirty work.
The L200 is slightly more capable off road (but you wont find out until it REALLY gets stuck) due to the diff lock (isuzu has LSD) - it will come down to the tyres on it more than anything.

The only grumble we have had with the isuzu is the fan control switch stopped working on setting two - its either on or off basically but this was replaced under warranty. Clutch went on the isuzu after 150K (59 reg).

When we come to buy another new one it won't be an L200, it will be the new even more refined isuzu.

While i wouldn't right the L200 off - it is a good truck, i would recommend at least considering the newer style Rodeo's as they are often overlooked and are really decent trucks for the money.

I think the L200s are good pickups as are hiluxs and navaras the problem being that with all three pickups they have been so successful that manufactures are reluctant to change them which leaves them in the past no sixth gear?? Why not, no engine upgrades?? New ford ranger, new VW amorak, or new Isuzu all superior engines and fuel economy smaller engines with turbo = good MPG

Well thanks guys for all your views. I have thought about all the good and all the bad!! Comments and i have made my mind up so looks like i will be going for the l200 after all. Will prob upset a few people but hey ho cant please eveybody lol. So time to start looking about i think. So thanks for all your info.

Hilux provides more for your cash

I considered the L200 prior to buying my first Hilux but once I bought the Hilux I was glad I went down that road, only problem with the 2010 Hilux was the fuel filter which is all sorted out and now bought another. One for me and one for the good lady. The Hilux will get you there on or off road
£26000 will provide this with zero miles, tow-bar, bull-bar & all extra's

I was thinking of changing soon and was wondering what mpg you get normal driving with the ranger , wish they would start making the 2.8 izusi again ,rust buckets they were but the engines were faultless well mine was .

+ 1 I had an old one just for throwing about off road for shooting I loved it until some muppet tried to steal it insurance company wrote it off or I would still be riding round in it.

I love my 10 plate l200 warrior .just last wk I have done
500 mile on a full tank drive them properly
its all good over 50 thousand on the clock
only had to change front discs
