Paul, amazed and slightly disappointed You are continuing to defend this guy, Everything written thus far is fact!! It matters not which part of Finland what type of hunt he is offering. The guy clearly hasn't got a clue what he is doing. We got ripped off end of!! There is simply no excuse, any good ponts such as the "craic" was generated by like minded sportsmen whom on the whole got on very well considering the circumstances. The guy and his "tin pot" out-fit should be exposed. I noted with interest in the thread the same ***** he spun a few of the lads on our trip, myself included, late avialability due to cancellations, dropping his price etc. You yourself now also a trade member paul, likewise although not on here i'm a member of a number of trade organisations, My golden rule for what it is worth is to disassociate myself from anything or anyone that is surrounded with very poor and negative feedback, otherwise you may well soon find your own integrity will get called into question. The guys a conman, the more exposure the better, theres no to be "Fair", we certainly wasnt afforded the same, he took the hard earned money and ran, and we got a very poor return.

Good point made and worth thinking about Paul as there is not a single untruth written thus far by any of the hunters...

Through pure greed the accommodation, food and hunt experience was destroyed. It was a total shambles yet despite 18 folk expressing their unhappiness at no point did Christian make any offer of recompense instead adding further annoyance by overcharging on food.

My conversations with Christian did not make any difference and at no point did he acknowledge or infact seem to care so many hunters were so disappointed and upset

Being blunt we were robbed at over 20k for the three days and overselling the hunt by six people this left him 6K that he would not have otherwise had. He made no attempt at obtaining further accommodation so with no further overheads could well have made a good gesture refunding some money to all hunters.

The man is a robbing basta4d imo based on my personal experience, and further is devoid of ethics and moral compass as a company director....

Don't get me wrong guys, the trip didn't work and I'm not defending the organisers because clearly a lot went wrong and excuses just can't make up for good money spend but I've hunted with them several times before but they always delivered in the past. I know that the creature comforts that commercially needed to be there just weren't but if 4-6 moose had been shot it would have been a different story maybe?

It's quite difficult to take a hit like this on the chin and like all of you, how do you think I feel especially when I took over a group of mates on the trip because of my tip? Having said that I personally met a team of guys that I would be proud to hunt with anywhere in the world and really hope to next year because it was the best company I've ever had on a trip, SD week was mentioned for next year and Jesus, do you think they could handle us?!

All the bad stuff has been mentioned already but walking away from the trip it did open my eyes and I learned a lot. I think for the future on international trips just like when you turn up at the airport in the UK, trying to be ahead of the curve rather than trust it will all go to plan is a must. I will certainly be asking the questions that make sure the surprises we had just wouldn't be there. We can't make a bad hunt good but whether it's here or abroad, we are all a lot less likely to get burned in the future.

I'm hunting again with the organisers next month as a trip is already paid for with flights booked and I'm 90% certain I'll be on another moose hunt too so I'm up to my tits in awkward stew. I'm hoping the organisers can come back to us with something positive but then I'm an optimist and take my chances rater than sit at home and grow old in slippers. Will you guys hunt with the organisers again.... well no is the obvious answer right now but other people will be so fingers crossed they will listen and learn and cover their bases for next time.

It was a con/ripp off last year & sounds the same has happened this year only difference is Paul ran the trip instead of john

PS Gutted for you all and it sounds like not only were there no animals but the basice were missing. Have any of you asked for some kind of refund to help ease the pain.

I'd wanted to book this hunt , boy am I glad I didn't , for people like me ( and I'm sure a lot of you guys who went ) this would have been the only trip of the year for me . Very sorry to hear you all had an awful time . Utterly disgraceful from the organisers

Having made a comment on the Hunt n Seek two day hunt thread as a warning to others.. here on the original thread is my account of what happened.

Firstly a big thankyou to Paul who for his group ensured all details were taken care of with military precision, even booking and paying for my flight and sorting car parks, hotels etc. Well done mate ;)

Quote from the original add....

17000 Hectare Private Hunting Estate - Private for who ? the Northern half of Finland who drove past us on every drive

3-4 drives daily infact means two !!

Lasting memories of other wildlife - this included a few species of bird, the lucky few seeing a squirrel. I have never seen such vast woodland devoid of life and I am not joking. Wishing to be accurate we also saw four Coon Dogs however we were travelling for ten hours in a van and they were squashed. Not in one single field did any member of my group see an animal in 10 hours of driving, truly unbelievable....

Relaxed Lunch - if you call an apple, crisps and a cold beer after being still in -2 degrees for 3-4 hours

Originally offered for 12 and on diferent grounds I joined the hunt after all this had been spoken about and was looking forward to hopefully seeing/shooting a Bull Moose.

The Airport was true to form as despite arriving early had us messing about for so long the gate was closed and the last call made as we rushed to the plane.. a total nitemare..

The drive to Salla from Helsinki was to be around seven hours with a further hour added as soon as we were near to seven culminating in just over 10 hours.

We arrived in the early hours to find that the accommodation had four single beds leaving us to sleep on the sofa's and little two inch mattresses in the three foot loft spaces. A great start making your beds up at nearly three in the morning when your up at six.

We were on each three days placed along a stone road used by logging trucks and it seems most of the local population and fellow hunting parties. This was a surprise proving the lack of attention to detail with us being sited in such ridiculous places

Advertised as a traditional Hunt using Dogs to drive the Moose this was not the case as the only break we had to our line was a couple of Reindeer one with our dog ragging its leg.

Some of the more laughable phrases from the hunt included,

Ssssssh close the door quietly as we were dropped 4-500m apart then stepping aside as a convoy of cars passed us.

Apparently you can tell by the way the dogs bark if its a Bull or Cow but when over the radio you hear theres a drive on and guns be ready you don't expect Mick (the sausage) to say ones on me lap and the other ones licking Fran... what a joke as the dogs disappointed with alarming regularity.

It was a catalogue of disasters as Sika Stav on sighting a Moose was told not to shoot by a guide as it was a Cow, then as the Bull Moose ran off it was quick shoot..:doh:when your only packing a pink .243 this was a big ask as by this time it was out of range at over 60m.

Only one person saw big Bull Moose ( another fekin Northern Monkey) which on 80,000 acres managed to find its way onto land we weren't allowed to shoot on... How lucky was that :suss:

Congrats to Jonny ( The Psycho ) who on looking behind at some birds saw a Moose and got four shots into it. Luckily he must have hit some grass leaving his .270 rounds tumbling into the Moose... After a good chuckle it all proved to much for the little thing as it unfortunately tripped and drowned in a nearby river

There was so much I was going to say on this thread but am way too busy tomorrow and don't have the will to go on so will sum up by saying that all the hunters I met were an amazing bunch, and I really mean we did have a total scream inventing a new Brand of humour.

I know many of us will be remaining in touch and new trips are already being spoken of.

Also a big thankyou to everyone for the kind generosity shown for our Amelia this was greatly appreciated.

Summing up....

imo this was all about recouping the money invested in new ground by Hunt n Seek where we were unfortunately the first lambs to the slaughter as despite barely being able to cope with 12 hunters they pushed the boundaries and greed to a level where accommodation, food and even transport could not cope... Then despite this to charge a 140 euros to dish out crisps and a apple then a water cup with a cuppa soup clearly indicates how far these guys have to go to be considered any where near professional or competent.

Big on promises as in the original add, this in no way was representative of what was delivered...

Poor hunting experience, poor food, poor accommodation, poor dogs and despite us all making our feelings known and worst of all a totally disgusting attitude with no intention to make good the failing of Hunt n Seek to deliver on any level by Christian.

Terry

That's not good, sorry to hear, push for some kind of refund telling them that you will expose there bussines ,to the Hunting/Stalking network, we all know that they cannot promise to shoot anything but they can at least get the Basics right, and give the correct information.

History repeats itself

If you mean you have also received an appalling experience it would be great for all concerned if you would be happy to share it..

I spoke at length with Christian and pointed out in a calm manner all the pitfalls and shortcomings yet despite cramming an extra 6 people on the hunt at a grand a pop at no point has he made any indication of being prepared to put things right by way of a small amount of compensation for the hunters.

I have seen Christian on these threads so without him making a reply you can only assume he doesn't give a sh!t as having mugged us off he lacks any moral fibre or business acumen and will no doubt be springing up under another name ripping other folk off..

You have got it spot on Terry.

I can sit or stand all day if there is a bit of wildlife to watch or photo but there was nothing apart from a red squirrel I saw on the first morning and the group of reindeer the farmer was herding up with a helicopter straight through the middle of one of the "drives"
Other than that you just had the trees in front of you to stare at. Very dull.

First trip abroad with the rifle. Has put me off booking anything else ever again. Total shambles.

even the prawn cuppa soup was rough:shock:

talked to Christian just a little while ago, he is travelling home today but will be there this evening. He is going to respond after he's had a chance to read through what's been said. See what he says and or offers

It would be right and proper to give the guy a chance to explain
Trial by internet would not be fair, give the guy a chance, there is always two sides
I have no experiance of moose densities, per hecter, i guess they would be very very sparse
Regards
TH

We went last year with John and Christian running it out there we only got 1days moose hunting because 3 were shot on the first day, not what we booked was it John as we all pointed out at the time but we made te best of it and made it a great trip even tho we didn't get the hunting promised.

I wouldn't bank on anything we got nothing last year When we went we all slept in 1 hut many on mattereses & only got 1 days moose hunting

We went with John Robeson to Christian & although I complained to Christian he said it wasn't his fault and we had booked te trip with John not him so he wasn't responsible. Legally quite true
