opinion on howa 22-250 varmint rifle

I have a howa varmint in 243 its a great accurate rifle, i had to change the stock to a laminate thumb hole stock which is a lot better but the trigger is abit stiff so it needs tuning soon but otherwise its great i cant complain for 400 quid new

Hi, I have a Howa 22-250 with a 22" sporter barrel. Changed the stock to a Boyd's Thumbhole and had a trigger job done. The rifle shoots really well with 5 shot groups at 100m < 20mm.

I had a 22" sporter which shot incredibly well although it wasn't bedded in it's carbon stock. Other Howas were quite sensitive and would not shoot consistently tight groups if the bedding was not proper. Possibly the most accurate factory rifle I had to date.
Howas seem to have gone out of fashion somewhat. The action seems a bit more lumpy compared to a T3 or Remmy, slightly heavier to.

I've got two howa 22/250, one with thumbhole stock and used with N/V. The other has the Black hawk axiom stock and gets some strange looks from mates until they shoot it. Both will shoot under 1" groups with Amax Vmax or anything from Sierra. The one with the Black hawk stock is super accurate with Game kings but does't like Nosler. The new triggers on the Howa's are fine

I have a Howa .308 varmint barrelled in a laminate stock and a .300 win mag long action in a Hogue stock got to say really pleased with both rifles they're both dead accurate, i was planning on buying both these rifles in Remington 700 actions but the Howa's came up for sale so bought them, very solidly built both have smooth actions as everybody knows they're copy/clones of Remington's so thats why they're so good

just my opinion
