  1. Favorite fox rifle

Bergara extreme sierra in 223, 55 grain rws soft point are lazers out to my regular ranges. Light, stainless, cerakoted, accurate, adjustable cheekpiece. Only thing I truly dislike is the aics magazine, they are reportedly working on a hinged floorplate in 223, I’ll get that the second it hits...
  2. Scope suggestions

Hi all Please allow me to clarify: I’m currently using the rifle as described mostly due to my own perceived lack of capabillity. I’m fairly new to centerfire rifles ( well versed with fac air rifles where kill zones are less than an inch, not 3 or 5). I’m only shooting to a level that I’m...
  3. Scope suggestions

Hello all For my new rifle (18 inch bolt action 223) I’m looking for a new optic. I’d like something very solid, illuminated reticle (if possible)with ranging capabillity, parallax adjustment would be nice. It will be a varmint rifle up to 150 yards. Preferably in the 42-44 mm objective range...
  4. GPO scopes. Seem a bargain?

How do you like the gpo by now? Very little long(ish) term information to be found, would you mind sharing your experience with them?
  5. Driven game scope mount

Would you mind sharing how/ what rubber comb you used and should you have a picture it would be greatly appreciated! I don’t mind a little diy to get me by for now.
  6. Driven game scope mount

Just got the measurement chart in for the new scope, took some measurements, I can move the scope down 1 or 2mm before the eyebell hits the rail. Current rings are 7mmBH so 6 should be good. I guess I’ll be installing an adjustable cheekpiece next year 😅
  7. Driven game scope mount

It is a 2-10x50. I have tried it last year and found that it was good starting at 30-40m but after trying the dedicated driven hunt scope of my companion I was sold. Great fov, very auick to pick up target,… I did like his scope (actually a tactical lpvo with horseshoe reticle )but finding a...
  8. Driven game scope mount

I was lucky enough to be able to try both last season on a hunt. Personally I prefered the low power scope, safety is key and the lay of the land where I’m lucky enough to hunt does not allow any shots near the beaters or dogs. I use electronic headphones and usually can hear the beaters way...
  9. Driven game scope mount

Thank you for your suggestions! As this year is quite costly the current scope will be going on a new rifle untill I can decide what scope I want on there/ can afford next year😅. It will only be driven hunt (fellow hunter on my lease to bring 5 hunters to every drive on another lease he has so...
  10. Driven game scope mount

Hi all, thanks for the tips! The rifle is a sauer 100, so 60 degree bolt lift, nothing to worry there, currently i have a 50mm objective on what I believe to be medium rings ( bought as is, ring height is about 8-10mm as far as I can distinguish) and ocular to bolt is right at 1cm. I do have...
  11. Driven game scope mount

Hi all I was hoping someone could chime in on the following : I’m mounting a 1-6x24 for driven game on my bolt action rifle and was wondering if a low or extra low mount would interfere with rifle operation? I currently have a pic-rail + 50mm objective scope on there ( bought an allround scope...
  12. "Anyone got a tourniquet?"

Always have a tourniquet, gloves, pressure bandage, stuffing bandage, rinsing fluid, antiseptic and two chest-seals in the kit when hunting, especially in group… a3 sized and vaccuum sealed save for the fluids. Carried a similar kit daily in a previous career. I find it funny no one is carrying...
  13. Fabarm choke equivalents

Hi all Is anyone aware of a list or way of comparing the fabarm chokes to the “regular system” ? All they say is 0/10, 2/10,5/10 and 7/10… ( cylinder, short, medium and long written on them as well.) I looked around online but very little information to be found except for the constriction in...
  14. .223 m5

hi all I’ve been looking to change my rifle from aics to a hinged floorplate design. ( don’t like the magazine sticking out so far while walking in the brush and with no short .223 aics mags to be found…) the rifle manufacturer makes a kit to change it out, but not in .223 (m5 bottom metal...
  15. .223 factory ammo

Hi all I’m looking for some real world experiences with a couple of different .223 factory loadings on fox and if applicable roe deer. Norma tipstrike came highly recommended for fox (also most expensive .223 ammo the shop sells… any experiences with for example geco express,… are definitely...
