  1. Back again

Allow me a re-introduction, if you will. Been on and off here for many years. I live on a small farm in Co. Down. I keep sheep as a penance and have a bit of native woodland planted as my bit for nature. (If it attracts pheasants, that’s not my fault). Did DCS1 over 15 years ago. But always...
  2. A few about lately

Cracking weekend of sport there. I'm highly envious of the fact that the paper in your area would publish this. You cannot begin to imagine the outcry from the bunny-huggers if that happened up here!
  3. In which Pine Marten's rifle arrives!

Can I just add my voice to those who have commented that that's a beautiful rifle? You've convinced me. Stutzen it is, and 7mm-08 at that. :-D
  4. It was only 40C at home yesterday and a lovely 25C atm today.

Jeez John! Been watching the fire trouble you guys are having. Trying to keep the missus from seeing it as ANOTHER reason for us not to emigrate. I've a good friend on the NTFRS up in Alice, so I know your weather isn't all beer and skittles. A lot of her colleagues will be risking life and limb...
  5. Kings on the move

Once again, absolutely cracking shots John. You have some fantastic subjects to work with too. Beats the LBJs.
  6. W H Smith Petition

Signed. Custom withdrawn. My small girls love the gundogs in my shooting magazines, but under no circumstances am I happy for them to even glimpse the covers of the other inappropriate publications stocked in most newsagents. And don't let them say children can't get hold of them. I managed well...
  7. Hello

... and insomnia. Welcome to the site Chris. It's a great place to spend a sleepless night. Aidy
  8. Climbed the hill tonight

They're a fine looking animal too. You don't seem to be short of deer John.
  9. Caught this young bloke out

Cheers John! I will definitely be looking to do the rounds of a few mates in Oz within the next couple of years so I hope to take you up on that!
  10. Caught this young bloke out

On a point of etiquette John I thought I'd leave a comment as I frequently view your picture threads. I absolutely love your Aussie wildlife photos. Keep them coming! Now, if only I could get the wife to leave her mum, there's a job up Albury/Wodonga way I'd love to take.
  11. Winter stalking trousers

Do not compare the two. I have both. Seeland are pants. Not waterproof, poor stitching, sweaty when it's warm. I have the Prohunter suit and the trousers are not even in a different league to the Seelands, it's a different sport. Proof yet again that, "you get what you pay for."
  12. belfast telegraph (Fail )

Irony. That's like goldy or silvery.... only made of iron, right?
  13. New Trade Member Scott Country International

Harkila Prohunter trousers Arrived yesterday, less than a week after ordering them. Many thanks. It's nice to get such good service and the price was pretty good also.
  14. Wanted: Accompanied stalking in Northern Ireland

I have passed DSC1 a couple of years ago and had a couple of dry stalking outings soon after. Work and academic commitments kept me away from it all last year but I am keen to get out again but the guy with whom I went out previously has let everything. Can anyone recommend a good guide for an...
