  1. Valuation Sako 75

A few years ago you might have got £1k but it seems prices aren’t what they were. I’d say £800ish if you can convince people it really is very low round count.
  2. For Sale: HIKMICRO Alpex Lite (non-LRF)

    Bump, will consider offers
  3. For Sale: 223 Brass

Bump, will do all remaining brass for £90, that’s the Norma, Remington and S&B.
  4. Ammo prices

I think you’re proving my point with that. I gave those drift figures at 150yds because it’s not that far on the hill. Even if you limit yourself to 100yds, you’d need to factor in the chance of follow ups further away. The BC of that bullet means normal wind conditions could cause a bad shot...
  5. For Sale: HIKMICRO Alpex Lite (non-LRF)

Very good condition and under 1 year old, selling as I only use it in the day and for that glass is still best. Marks on it are superficial and are not crimps, it seems all of these have a matte finish that gets polished when mounted. Lenses are unmarked. Will come with the original box and...
  6. For Sale: 223 Brass

    Bump
  7. Ammo prices

It’s not about disregarding basics, it’s about not picking kit that can exacerbate mistakes, e.g. making a wrong wind call, or make a situation unnecessarily difficult, e.g. a follow up shot. Before making the decision not to use that Geco stuff, I did run the numbers on it. It’s a bit of a...
  8. For Sale: Nikon Monarch 5 10x42 Binos

For sale as I don’t use them anymore. These were mid tier Nikons and have a good quality image and feel well made, they’re also fairly compact relative to many 10x42. Glass is very good, as is the body. Comes with neck strap and soft case. £175 posted.
  9. For Sale: Leupold VX-III 3.5-10x50 Boone & Crockett

Picture of the serial number for anyone interested.
  10. .260, Overlooked?

Absolutely. I would think some of the trouble with modernising existing cartridges would be the compatibility issues, so it’s probably easier to have a new cartridge. That and it is better from a marketing perspective.
  11. For Sale: 223 Brass

I’ve no longer got a 223 so may as well move this on. RCBS dies - full length and seater - £45 SOLD Lapua - full box of unfired brass - £90 SOLD Lapua - 55x once fired -£40 SOLD Norma - 90x unfired and 10x once fired - £70 PPU - 100x unfired - £40 SOLD Remington - 25x 3 times fired, 15x twice...
  12. For Sale: Optilock 34mm

  13. For Sale: Leupold VX-III 3.5-10x50 Boone & Crockett

    Bump
  14. Rimfire choices

I’d probably have the HW. I used to have a 457 and now have a 455. The 455 isn’t as refined but for some reason I like it a lot more, I found the 457 a bit bland and as you say, the trigger wasn’t great - I can’t quite say why as it wasn’t really heavy.
  15. Ammo prices

I decided against the Geco for my 30-06 as the BC is so terrible as to mean you’d need to consider wind drift at 100-150m! My approach now is to find a useable factory non-lead for those situations that need it and then handload the rest, it’s just too expensive for serious practice.
