I appreciate that this one might be a bit of a snore fest for some and perhaps I'm getting a little to far in to the weeds here but want to make the right decision on a sling.
- Considering the Blaser sling having used it a few times, found it comfortable, and assuming it must have been...
Andrew took me out for my first roe buck stalk the other evening. He expertly guided me through the whole experience and managed to get me my first buck within 10 minutes of arriving at the initial ground. This is all despite extremely challenging wind conditions.
I can’t recommend Andrew...
Brilliant idea @luca$ !
Don't suppose there are any landowners that need help with a little machine learning, or data analytics? I'll take that as no then :lol:
Hope that something comes of this for you mate - surely just a matter of time - great offer, and very entrepreneurial of you.
Yeah I bought a thermal spotter... great deal from a friend of mine. I also have some non range finding binoculars. I just don't have the LRF at the moment.
Fully agree with not spotting quarry with a scope mounted on a rifle... and you're absolutely right to reiterate that point, so thank...
I think this is the route forward. Using an LRF to work on my distance estimation does actually sound like quite good fun, and once refined, no batteries to run out. I will eventually get an LRF thermal but there's enough high priority kit that's going to near enough bankrupt me before that...
yeah, the battery thing does freak me out a bit. Bought another for my thermal spotter, despite the one I had being good for 7+hrs. It's the other reason I was looking at a glass scope alongside a NV.
The thing I like about the digital scopes is that they record and have found reviewing my...
Sage advice. You're right, I should have mentioned that; I've had used a few cartridges in my short time: .223, .308, .243, and .270. I like the .270 for fallow... cue the comments
i know, and they always do... I just like the idea of being fully self sufficient... and I'm a 'tackle tart' (someone else coined this but i like it) already.
fair enough... i thought i was probably over complicating things, so thanks for reining me in . I have Vortex Diamondback binoculars and quite happy with them as a budget / beginner option. Any ideas on a half decent LRF?
fallow, roe, and muntjac mostly. most shots will be within 150m but was out with someone the other day and we had to range the deer, and use the BT. I would like the option to do this as if going on guided stalks, I won't know whether the distances will be extended. And I don't know what...
Very new. 8 stalks under my belt. Pretty much a different combo of equipment each time. Guessing you’re going to blow this idea out of the water 😂. Interested in why this wouldn’t work if that’s the case. I have never tried this btw… just wondering if it could be viable.
Have used thermal...
