  1. Decent phone protection while stalking

I always carry my phone in chest pocket on lightweight fleece, normally wear smock for protection against weather over the top.. One added advantage is that I can feel the phone vibrate against chest if someone wants to contact me. (Phone always on silent so as not to disturb anything). Phone...
  2. Do all Blaser barrels prefer heavy bullets to lighter bullets?

    I have a R8 in 6.5 x 55mm, puts 120grain Nosler ballistic tips in to a thumbnail group
  3. Vhit powder for 308

I use N540 at present, getting good groups and 2900fps with no signs of pressure with virtus precision 125grain from a 20" barrel. I have a tub of N135 which should be even better for shortish barrel, but as yet I have not loaded up any ammunition for load development.
  4. Zeiss quitting the sport optic market

They make a lot of products for metrology as well, I have witnessed a Zeiss T-scan Hawk 2 scanning a machined component and building up a 3-D image on computer screen. The tolerances it can work too are pretty impressive, which i would have expected for a piece of equipment that costs more than...
  5. Tired of beam scale, digital?

I use both RCBS 5-0-5 scales and digital scales, typically use beam scales and target master trickler to weigh charge and digital scales to cross check occasionally. If I had only one set of scales I would stick with RCBS, digital scales seems to wander a bit. I also think that the check weight...
  6. Shooting pigeons in sheds.

Cheaper alternative, are you any good with catapult. That's how I used to feed my ferrets when there was very few rabbits on the go, used to knock the feral pigeons down, cannot remember damaging any corrugated iron either.
  7. Open ticket license renewal in Scotland

I have open firearms cert and I have always had to specific and provide proof of at least one area I shoot over.

  9. Carcass tag pen!!!

Keep a couple of your carcase tags in the vehicle somewhere warm, much easier to write on and the ink dries quickly. There always a bit of condensation on the ones stored in larder

  11. Sold: Pacific DL-105

This is a vintage PACIFIC DL-105 in 12 Bore. If my memory serves me correctly it was bought at Moy game fair back in the late 1970's. Been lying in garage for quite some time, I believe the only thing missing is the spring which returns the loading mechanism back to starting position. Has the...

If your outhouse is on the same mains as house you can use a TP link box, the one in the outhouse which is plugged into mains can also provide a local Wi-Fi connection.
  14. Venison wanted advert from 50 years ago.

Mitchells of Letham used to pick up from the farm, quite a handy supplement to the pocket money. A lot of rabbits and hares on the ground back then, used to check and empty snares before and after school every day. Normally got paid extra for clean rabbits and hares (Those that had not been shot)
  15. Stalking trousers for the (Scottish) hill

I,m with happy stalker on this one, normally wear trousers with a water proof membrane but if theres a lot of crawling in wet conditions I find that a pair of berghaus waterproof over trousers are great and dont take up much space.
