No it doesn't. If you read the info on the update it tells you that IR power one is reduced in power for close range work, ie, air rifle users.
The other updates are worth doing it for in my opinion 🤷

It's over a year ago since I did mine but, if I remember correctly, I had to download it from the PARD Website onto my laptop, then put the SD card from my scope into my laptop to transfer it on.
I have installed the firmware update and you're better off doing it to be honest. The IR is dimmer on power one only and this aimed (excuse the pun) at air rifle users. All you need do is set the IR Default setting to number two and it's the same power.
