  1. Mil surp altbergs

I have a black pair of Altbergs mil surplus boots. I'm not sure exactly which model they are, but they look a lot like those defenders. I got them off eBay, brand new in the box. The ones I have don't have a goretex lining, but are still waterproof. Mine cost 60 quid, which is £140 less than the...
  2. Finnfire Mounting Problems

Fizz, I recently got a .17 Mach II barrel for my Finfire. The bloke who I bought it from (an RFD) showed me how to fit the barrel into the action. The action he used to show me had been cracked in the same way as you describe. He'd had it welded by a specialist and had then milled the inside...
  3. Cerakoting in Midlands

I've spoken to Staffs Synthetic Stocks. They use a local firm and are going to sort it out. Thanks for for all the replies - much appreciated.
  4. Cerakoting in Midlands

All, I need a barrel doing and wonder who is good and closest to Burton on Trent ? I know there's a really good guy in Hereford but wondered if there is anyone nearer. I work in Birmingham so anyone there would be convenient. Does anyone have a reccomendation? Cheers, Bob

  6. Sako Finnfire P94S mag for under a fiver?

I'd like two fives and two tens is possible please. Thank you. Bob
  7. Bushcraft - what?

Bushcraft describes carrying out any countryside activity whilst wearing clothes and using equipment which is predominantly green. For example, a person might go for a walk in the woods with their binoculars and a little stove to make a brew. If that person is wearing a blue waterproof coat...
  8. 120 pro hunters

    Rifle is a Sako 85.
  9. 120 pro hunters

I use the 120 Sierras and N160 in my Swede. Primers are CCI LR. Never had a problem with dirt. Give the primers a try before you give up on the N160. It's a great powder for this cartridge.
  10. Calibers you didn't like?

For me it's .25 06. Mate had one and it used to ruin anything he fired it at. Probably using wrong bullets, but it seemed excessively brutal for the type of stalking we were doing (woodland Roe and Muntjac). Having said that, I recently saw a video of a guy culling hinds on the hill in...
  11. Blaser repeatability

The bolt is a pressure bearing component, as are the faces that fit the various cartridges. If you lose your bolt you'll need a slot for a new one. If you just want to use new barrels you'll need a slot for the barrel and the bolt face that fits it (assuming you don't already have a face that...
  12. Blaser repeatability

The bolt is a pressure bearing component so if you lose it you'll have declare that loss to your FLO and get a slot to buy another one. It's the same as replacement barrels.
  13. Blaser repeatability

This is some of the most far fetched Bla**** I've ever read. If you forgot your "bolt" on a Blazer you'd have to apply for a slot on your FAC to buy one, just the same as any other rifle. Then there's the cost of a new one.
  14. Blaser repeatability

It's a quick release scope mount system. There are many such systems about. You can do this on any rifle you care to fit such a system to.
  15. Should I go to the dark side?

If you; mostly shoot driven boar; fly a lot with your rifle; have a car with a very small boot and can get used to "de-cocking" your rifle instead of opening the bolt then get one of the straight pull Blazers. If not, you're unlikely to achieve any material advantage to your sport over and above...
