  2. meopta optika6 3-18x56 anyone own one?

Thanks Geoff, I may well take you up on your kind offer. I have just ordered am Optika5 2-10x42 PA Zplus that I plan to use for ratting with a Ward add on. If it doesn't suit then I will upgrade to the Optika6 2.5-15x44 and was undecided between the Dichro and illuminated BDC reticles. Whichever...
  3. meopta optika6 3-18x56 anyone own one?

Hi Geoff, a bit of an old thread resurrection here, but why would you now go for IR instead of the Dichro reticle? I ask as I'm considering both and cannot see before I buy. Thanks.
  4. A6 Avant 3L Diesel fuel economy

I have Michelin Cross Climate all season tyres on my Allroad which are lasting well and giving good, if not exceptional, grip on all surfaces. I have a mild remap to just over 300bhp, and the car is reasonably rapid, but it's no sports car. It's quietly competent on all fronts, and noticeably...
  5. A6 Avant 3L Diesel fuel economy

I have a 2012 A6 Allroad 3.0 and can get it to 49mpg on motorways at 60mph. Low 40s mpg at more realistic speeds, and high 30s on average with mixed relaxed driving. Spirited and round town driving drops the mpg significantly. Do beware though that the boot is TINY for such a large car as it has...
  6. Picatinny rail for Cz527

I decided to go for a Contessa rail in the end as I wanted a touch more scope height. I had already ordered a DIP rail from the States which has just arrived. It's new and boxed and cost £60 and two weeks wait. Anyone fancy it for £50?
  7. Close focus scope to use with pard 007 for rats

Leupold EFR 3-9x33 comes down to about 5 yards and I use mine for ratting successfully with a Ward 800S.
  8. Picatinny rail for Cz527

Thanks all again. That Contessa is great and just what I'm after really. I prefer steel, and the side mounting with the locking stud seems more secure to me. It's not for sale is it? I have Contessa rails on my T3s and they have been spot on.
  9. Picatinny rail for Cz527

Thanks all for replies. I currently use Sportsmatch mounts on my 527 but they leave the scope optically zeroed about 14MOA low, which is near the edge of the adjustment range of my particular scope, and I suspect tracking and zero retention performance are diminished. I usually use pic rails on...
  10. Picatinny rail for Cz527

Does anyone have any recommendations for a picatinny rail for a Cz527? The lower the better. Maybe someone has one for sale before I go searching for new. Thanks in advance.
  11. Real world swede or creed?

I've got both and I have found they perform the same with warmish reloads. Both give me about 2800fps with a 140 grain bullet and 3000fps with a 120. Factory ammo for the Creedmoor should be similar performance, but factory ammo for the Swede may be significantly lower pressure and performance...
  12. Large rifle safe that's wide yet shallow?

Good point. I have done that and got the rifles in protective socks to protect as best as I can but inadvertent bumps still occur.
  13. Large rifle safe that's wide yet shallow?

Absolutely agree. My Infac has two rows, but the back row is no use to me as the foam depth only allows for shotguns or unscoped rifles. Also, the front row has to be removed to allow access to the back anyway. I just use the front row which allows the scopes to have plenty of space around them...
  14. Large rifle safe that's wide yet shallow?

Thanks all for advice so far. I can see that two safes are a good idea for added security and using up the space available, but prefer the idea of one large safe for having a large door opening to reach into to minimise cabinet dings on my kit. I have found quite a few models that are really...
  15. Large rifle safe that's wide yet shallow?

That sounds interesting. Was it significantly more expensive?
