Takbok, just thought I’d say thanks for the kit and the advice.
I’ve never got on with quad sticks but thought I’d have one more try, with your 5th leg kit.
Bought a std set of Mjoelner sticks, added the 5th leg kit and replaced all poles with carbon fibre from Takbok’s contact and fixings...
Mainly 100-200yrds as the meadows aren’t massive.
It sounds like a slight adjustment of bullet strike is the way forward.
I’m sure to increase the strike energy and size of wound channel will give a greater margin for error with this too?
Clearly bullet placement is paramount, no question...
That’s prob about what I’m getting.
If they come up against a fence, they generally fall over it and can’t get up.
When they get to the woods (I suspect) they stumble over the fence or in the bramble and fall over fairly quickly.
I guess I also draw no pleasure from shooting one, to see it run...
Thanks - have read a couple of articles on HILAR, seems to suggest take the centre line of the neck and the centre line of the leg and where they converge is the spot.
Hi,
Trolled the site but not come up with an exact answer to my queries.
Also spoken to people but got such mixed views!!
I may be over thinking this also.
I’ve had the chance to shoot a new (to me) area for the last 2 seasons.
All Fallow, from high seat, open pasture with woodland boundaries...
Yes, both have both adjustments. The bigger one is meant for sending a white light 300m so I guess it’s far too bright.
The smaller one might be more suited… I’ll need to sit and tinker with it, perhaps.
I did have it on last night and was twiddling stuff. I found, as FreeForester said, I could...
Hi,
I have searched but can’t seem to find an exact answer to this question, most are looking to increase the distance they can see.
I feel, from the posts I have read, this could be a list cause, but here goes.
Plenty of experience on here to learn from!!
I am on a fallow cull syndicate...
Hi,
I’ve been a long time ‘lurker’ on the site!!
I’ve been shooting for over 30yrs and stalking for about 4 years.
I started off buying guided days then joined a cull syndicate and now have permission for stalking a wood.
