I don't know if Hilltrek still do it but my heavy smock is heavy weight Ventile outer with a Paramo Nikwax inner. So you get the best of both worlds. It's seriously warm though.
I had the same dilemma as you. I kept looking at the No8 and even tried them on, but the fact it's crazy money and not even waterproof put me off.
Looked around and Hilltrek kept coming up, spoke to the local retailer who said you could customise them as I'm left handed and wanted the breast...
I'm gutted.
I have a pair of Hanwag Trapper tops, that I've just had to consign to the bin. The rubber has degraded beneath the sole so whatever glue you use doesn't keep the sole attached.
They are over twenty years old though and have been a truly superb boot.
Same again for me.
I like the comments about Borders. I have a Border who's 12 now and just about calmed down enough to make a deer dog. She'll track anything and will never ever give up on a blood trail. She was never trained in deer work but has that typical working terrier trait of needing to kill something...
My father kept hounds firstly Basset, later Blood. The Basset's were great fun on rabbit but more so on hares, absolutely no recall whatsoever, once you'd loosed them and they found a line. You had to try and keep up and they were surprisingly fast. Straight across roads and train lines no...
I have an old Ridgeline coat, they're tough, I use mine for foxing and terriers. But almost anything else on the market has better breathability. I recently bought a secondhand Laksen tweed coat off ebay for £80 in mint condition and in a different league for breathability than my Ridgeline, in...
Thanks for the reply, I thought it would.
Have you had the same issue?
I went on line yesterday with the Spy Point help chat. It wasn't the best. Basically recommended to switch unit on and off, put new batteries in it, put a new clean SD card in it, then when none of that worked I downloaded...
My Spy Point Link Micro LTE isn't working.
It stopped sending photos and required a firmware update, which I did. I'm fairly sure that it ran out of battery whilst updating the software.
I've put new batteries in it and attempted to reflash the firmware but it just sits there with the green...
Where I live in North Wales back in the very early 80s I'd never seen a Plummer terrier, and the local terrier guys that had seen them work had nothing but bad to say about them. They called them ratting dogs. As has been discussed earlier, we had a selection of extremely good terriers...
I have 6mmXC, 6.5x47 and a 30.06. Out of preference I'll always take the 6mm. It's shot all UK species, male and female including Sika on the hill and as long as I do my bit it's plenty powerful enough. I think for me it's a confidence thing, and the 6mm is lovely to shoot. The 30.06 is used as...
I have both, Z8 and a V8, in fact I have x3 V8s in 14, 20, and 35 mag. I prefer my Zeiss 2.8-20 x 56 really as someone else has said the single dot for hunting is pin sharp and really focuses the eye. But I'd still probably say my Kahles 624i is a better all round scope being FFP.
Walker Electronics, are what the professionals use dentists, tattoo shops etc. I had a cheap generic ultrasonic first and then bought a secondhand Walker, the difference in cleaning ability is serious.
