  1. Red deer, Woldingham Surrey

I have just seen them, no antlers, middle or of the field. Did a double take before searching tinterweb as I couldn't reconcile what I was seeing.
  2. LED light bar on honda trx420 quad/atv?

I am thinking of putting an led light on my honda quad. Big spread in wattage options and therefore the amps they draw. What are people using and how are they wired up? By my maths a 216w light would pull 16amp, which seems alot for a didfy battery and stator so leaning to a 90w unit.
  3. Honda 420 2011 winch plate

Anyone got a view on a cost effective winch plate for a 2011 420 honda? Even better if you have one for sale.
  4. Chronic Wasting Disease

do our resident vets know if the sheep/goat variety can spread to deer? @Buchan I condemned a Roe Doe recently that was completely wasted, massive growth on liver and otherwise poor condition. Recently learned that some of the goats on the same property have wasting disease - coincidence is of...
  5. How safe is a "safety"

Rule 1, treat every gun as if it is loaded, that way there isn't any confusion. Rule 2, always point in a safe direction. Accidents happen in those little momentary lapses.
  6. Sussex night licence

Hello. Is there anyone with recent experience of successful applications for night licence? Ideally in Sussex high wield aonb? Have a cattle farm that is being invaded at night from neighbouring woodland fallow herds. Neighbours not very engaged, shall we say. I am after a view on the process...
  7. Legalities of?

Not a specialist but I suspect this is something to do with the fact that all firearms are prohibited but the certificate serve as an exemption to that prohibition. It is also likely that this is in part due to use of conditions to that exemption. I.e. if you don't comply with the conditions...
  8. Biltong.

according to my local butcher who wanted to stock and sell it required a segregated counter, scales and cutting surfaces from the meat, so wasn't viable for him to sell. Draw from that what you will. In terms of drying, I made a box with a bulb, PC fan and led driver and some fly screen. The...
  9. De priming on a press. What do I need?

lee universal decapping die to deprime, then clean, then size, then trim, then stand upside down so the head is at the top and neck at bottom, then prime then finaly powder and bullet seated in one step before admiring the nice shiny uniform box.
  10. Long range target rifle

    Perhaps a 2nd hand trg42 in .300wm?
  11. Training for complete beginner

Lots of good suggestions. My tuppence, if you don't have a lot of gun experience, would be to think about a local rifle club, ideally light sporting rifle. Lots and lots of cheap trigger time is a good thing for familiarity, discipline and muscle memory.
  12. New brass vs reloaded cases….. insufficient prep?

Sure, but I found the SSt cannelure wasn't in the right place.. ;-)
  13. New brass vs reloaded cases….. insufficient prep?

I would just go based on groups. Velocity is useful to know but the sd and es are not terribly helpful in this context. P.s. I see some reference to roll crimps above. Personally I wouldn't attempt to roll a bullet that doesn't have a cannelure
  14. 7x64mm switching from Barnes 140gr TSX to TTSX

meh, I was comparing a seated TSX so missed the extra band. It looked to me like the difference was the blue bit of marketing sticking out the end. Anyone with practical experience in 7x64 arena with Reloader Swiss?
  15. 7x64mm switching from Barnes 140gr TSX to TTSX

As per title, does anyone have experience of switching from a TSX to TTSX and if yes did it have any material impact on load as in velocity or POI? They look the same but Barnes shows a 0.065" of difference in length, which I'd put down to the plastic bit instead of the meplat/HP. usual caveats...
