I think that's it, I'm overthinking it..... I've stuck a wanted up for a Sako 85/90 so with any luck I can pick one up while I gather the rest of my kit. and as Tim said I just need to commit to the kit I'm after. Thank you all for your advice :)
  2. Bipod recommendations for Sako 85 / 90 (.308)

I've an opportunity on some land where I can shoot from a flat raised position down into a valley with a lovely backstop - provided the deer on the land get onboard and sit in the right spot :-|. Titling is a good point, thank you!
  3. Wanted: Sako 85 Finlight II or 90 Adventure .308

Good afternoon As it says above, I am looking for a right handed Sako 85 Finlight II or 90 Adventure .308 if anyone has one gathering dust. I've the slot on my FAC ready and waiting. I'm based in Hampshire however I am happy to travel to come fetch it. Hope to hear from people soon :)
  4. Bipod recommendations for Sako 85 / 90 (.308)

That's comforting thank you both for the responses. Edited to ask - if I was to use the bipods (seats / laying on top of a high perch) would Harris still be the one to go for?
  5. Bipod recommendations for Sako 85 / 90 (.308)

Probably similar to you, but "what if" scenarios can overcomplicate when all the research gets involved. Harris bipods were on my list but I got a little lost in the model and attachment styles. I also took a look at the Spartans, however the magnet attachment made me twitch.
  6. Bipod recommendations for Sako 85 / 90 (.308)

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, I'm going to be looking for a Sako 85 or 90 .308 now my FAC is here, and part of the things I expect to need to buy is a bipod. I've taken a look on google but in all truth my eyes are starting to swim from all the research I'm doing on optics and bins...
  7. Ticks

There are times I dislike that site, but I cannot deny it's chuffing useful!
  8. Ticks

Animology - you get from most pet shops (also sells the fox poo one!). But our dogs get washed every week as one has a love of a wet cow pat and and the other for the boggy mud when they go for a swim.
  9. Ticks

That's a good point, we do the same every year (can't recall the name) and it's saved my legs when we are out in long grass or the wood with the dogs.
  10. Ticks

We wash with flea and tick shampoo and that seams to cover ours, but it sounds like you have an area where they are more prevalent. The spot-ons or tablets may be the way to go.
  11. Hampshire grant wait

Ouch, 3 years would be frustrating. Honestly could not tell you, but I suspect there are a few additional checks that we don’t know about …. It would be sensible. I would not be surprised if it also depends on what you are after / how many etc
  12. Hampshire grant wait

For anyone still waiting, a quick update. Applied beginning of Feb 2025, call beginning of May 2026 and FAC is now in my hands. 🥳 The gentleman who visited explained that most forces are really under the hammer, but they have all been very helpful both over the phone and email even before my...
  13. Available: DSC1 and Large and small Game meat Hygiene course Wiltshire

Hopefully a quick question, are you running the game meat hygiene separately? DSC1 is done but I need to get the hygiene course settled.
  14. For Sale: Viperflex Pro Carbon - Brand New

Do you happen to have any Styx left still?
  15. Finally bade goodbye🫣

We've have a smaller (150 - 195 miles) battery EV for years, driven it from mid Hampshire to lands end and up the the lakes with a few stops to charge on each journey. It's actuallyquite good and we've found some lovey little stops when we've looked for a charger. Although the stop at the cafe...
