  1. Pre-planning for my midlife crisis (driven hunt/black bear/ Swedish moose??)

In my opinion it is very difficult to beat a good chamois hunt. Do it in the mountains, not the forests.
  2. Blaser k 95

As far as I have been able to find, only Spartan and Steinert Sensing Neopod makes bipods/bipod adapters that looks ok on a K95 (or Merkel). Spartan is possibly the most versatile/discreet but Neopod is the easiest install (a simple drill and glue job) Zero POI shift with Neopod. Would expect...
  3. Lecia ballistic data for Binos

I have made a film about the Leica ballistics, you can see the setup and results below. The short version: Premium optics that works, but requires a bit of input
  4. Carbonomix stocks

Oh, yeah not really interested in the other stocks - lower comb and thumbhole grips needs to have a fairly advanced shape in order to work properly. Akila worked fine, but my gunsmith said he discarded the issued dimensions and did his own measurements. I bought this years back, I was warned...
  5. Carbonomix stocks

Yes but nothing made it to the shortlist: Blaser original - 💸💸💸💸💸 Raven - heavy and did not agree with grip Custom - too many variables and high pricepoint Akila - I suspect heavy
  6. Carbonomix stocks

I recently completed a Carbonomix/ Akila build. Nice quality, time will show if it can take the abuse...
  7. 8k to spend on a rifle: high end custom rifle or blaser R8?

The Blaser works for sure, just apply basic marksmanship. That episode and 369 should have a ton of pointers. When I see how much £££ I've sunk into my Rem700 and just approaching the overall reliability of my Blaser... Build on Tikka instead?
  8. Online shooting school, summary thread

Not sure how useful this film is, but it can certainly be used as a summary of shooting principles. All the details are in previous episodes. (and it contains a kick towards a certain type of influencers...)
  9. Shooting in wind, online shooting school

I don't think we disagree. But when you say "deer that are quite capable of moving while the bullet is in flight leaving you with a wounded beast" the mistake have been made prior to the shot, so I would put it differently. Bullet flight-time is usually 0,2-0,6 seconds and that timeframe alone...
  10. Shooting in wind, online shooting school

    Nope, sorry. No time.
  11. Shooting in wind, online shooting school

Final episode this season, now it's all hunting. Next season will likely be more details on windcall.
  12. Shooting in wind, online shooting school

This film shows how to gauge wind into basic classes and how to hold off for that wind. If you master 100m you should also have a very high degree of success at this
  13. Which flip up scope covers?

Vortex defenders & Tenebraex are the two covers that I've had most success with. Add lenscloths in ziplocks, in all your jackets if you are forgetful...
  14. Which flip up scope covers?

Nah, I stalk deer I don't flush them.:-| If I have time for the cameras I also have time for a lenscover. Considering what a lens does and how expensive it is, I find it worth protecting. It's no problem to open a cover if you expect a quick shot. If you don't expect a snap shot, how will you...
  15. Shooting in wind, online shooting school

That's a fairly sophisticated windcall, shows some understanding. It is what this years films eventually will lead to - a better understanding of wind as opposed to just looking at a Kestrel/ anemometer. For the moment I'm doing "basic mountains" for the travelling hunter (plus I need the...
