Carbonomix stocks

Hi guys,

Anyone here run one of these Carbonomix stocks (https://carbonomix.si)? I have a Raven Euro on my R8 but these seem much lighter (450-480g vs 950 grams) and I’ve been thinking about going back to a traditional style stock rather than the non ambidextrous thumb hole on the Raven.

I’d appreciate any info as am happy with the Raven so don’t want to sell it if the replacement isn’t as good.

I had a look at those and they really look good, but for me the Raven cheek riser is a deal breaker, can't do without.

The standard Raven "Professional" is lighter than the thumbhole version, and averages 600gm.

I've not handled a Carbonomix, so can't give you a direct comparison, but I use the Raven M80 Professional for driven boar, mainly with a 9.3x62, and occasionally with a 300wm, and it's recoil management is much better than the Blaser original, even at 600gm. 725gm with a Kalix Teknix cheek riser fitted.

I really like my M82 from Raven but it hasn’t provided the weight savings I was hoping for. It is a pleasure to shoot and I think more comfortable than the stock Blaser thumbhole a das mentioned the adjustable comb is fantastic. I have just been toying with the idea of replacing it with an akila for precision and carbonomix for hunting. Pricing would be helpful as you say.

Shipping even bare stocks abroad has become a nightmare. Most of the main carriers have even banned carrying "water pistols" ! And I've had the Parcel Force return bare Raven stocks.

Akila is even worse, because the "action / receiver" is part of the design, and in the EU, and the UK, this is now been reclassified as a "firearm part", requiring a variation from the police

Thanks for putting the video up, I’m in a similar boat to you looking at lighter rifle for future proofing my hunting…did you look at their other stock variants before settling on the hunttech style?

Also have you or anyone you know had any experience with the Akila Chassis for the R8? I see you can buy them with the metalwork included…

Thanks, I was more meaning other Carbonomix stocks? I see they have 3 different designs.

I have been thinking about splitting out my range work and hunting/training to specific stocks so the weight of the Akila doesn’t worry me too much as it would be a dedicated range gun.

Those barrel stubs look the business though…did your gunsmith find them easy to work with?

Oh, yeah not really interested in the other stocks - lower comb and thumbhole grips needs to have a fairly advanced shape in order to work properly.
Akila worked fine, but my gunsmith said he discarded the issued dimensions and did his own measurements. I bought this years back, I was warned the company has some trade sanction issues now (blacklisted by EU due Russia).
