  1. Case Head Separation Signs?

Use a hacksaw or a Dremel to cut one of them in half lengthways & post up a photo of the result. Ta.
  2. Load data for 100 grain Hornaday interlock and N160 powder in .243 Winchester

A bit late to the thread but my Lyman 49th lists a load for the 100g Interlock #2453 24" barrel: Start 39.0gr Vel 2586 Max 43.5gr Vel 2931 I'll be giving N160 a try to see how it compares to Varget (still have plenty of the latter put by...)
  3. Trophy hunting and mis-informed Celeb’s

I'm honestly impressed that a far left, woke mouthpiece like the Guardian published this. Same goes for Monbiot for admitting he was wrong. Perhaps they're finally realising it's a pretty harsh world out there & one which happens to make a sport out of a necessity (much like UK deer stalking...).
  4. Chainsaw not cutting straight

I picked up a chainsaw (Husqvarna 266) for the first time in nigh on a decade today. Spent half an hour reducing a 20' plum with a 12" trunk & similar sized damson to 12" long logs & a pile of small (<1.5") branches. My only thought was it's harder to forget how to correctly operate a chainsaw...
  5. Rifle barrel Cleaning

I know of a rifle which, at the time I shot it, had over 14,000 rounds through it without cleaning. It still held to 2½ MOA, which was it's design spec (FAL). I've run 500+ rounds through an L1A1 in a day, with no noticeable fall in accuracy or any reliability issues. My bolt actions receive...
  6. R Number In London

So... ...how many extra deaths through an increase in coronavirus infection will these f'ing morons consider to be "a price worth paying"? Oh; they're mostly young, so won't worry because it's not them doing the dying. All over something that's f**kall to do with the UK. Oh & all those...
  7. Interesting positon from Police on FAC Conditions

Looking up the ballistics of both is hardly a difficult task. Thankfully Cumbria's Firearms Licensing team (& especially their FEO) are knowledgable, competent & realistic. The only downside is they're understaffed for the job they do (more guns per head here than in 90% of the UK).
  8. Re-Sizing NEW Brass?

I always full length resize new brass. These days I use RCBS X dies, so it gets trimmed 0.020" under standard trim to length as well, along with primer pocket uniforming & flash hole de-burring. Dunno if the latter make much difference but it occasionally keeps me from shooting slugs & snails...
  9. Cleaning Fluid for Rotary Wet Tumbler what do you use

The addition of citric acid in a hard water area is of benefit as it helps break down the calcium carbonate which is the main "hardening agent" in the water. Heck, it even helps disperse the arsenic salts in Albuquerque water & ensures minimal tarnishing or powdery deposits on the brass...
  10. Lack of paying supporters

That investment not only supplies my "pension" but also finances UK based businesses (I don't invest in furrin or offshore companies, only those who pay their tax in the UK - I'm funny that way)
  11. Lack of paying supporters

    Got Sov's too...;)
  12. Lack of paying supporters

Not upset - just temporarily penniless. Took 12 years to recover 70% of their value from the last crash & if they take that long this time, I doubt I'll see the benefit.
  13. Lack of paying supporters

With the current value of my investments currently at £500k less than they were at Christmas & income at zero, I'll sadly be supporting fewer, rather than more sites for the foreseeable future. Only liquidity currently available is gold. Anyone want to buy a Krugerrand or two... 😟
  14. Anybody else completely and utterly fed up with the hypocrisy and incompetence

The telling numbers will be the excess deaths when compared to the same period in previous years. Take an average of the reported deaths over 2015-19 & compare with 2020. OK, so this will include those who didn't get treatment for other issues due to Covid-19 but they're still victims of the...
  15. Cuckoo's

Heard several up Ennerdale yesterday, including one from clear across the lake. Loads of skylarks this year too, all over the fells hereabouts. Plenty of evidence the peregrines are feeding well on woodies too.
