I’ve experienced a similar problem. Bought a little used Sauer 200 some while ago. The stock comes off ok. However the bolt retaining the forend seemed reluctant to move much. I was unwilling to force it. Does the bolt come out totally ?

Did you use another IR with that to reduce battery consumption ? If so what worked ? The inboard IR is ok to 170-200 but fades after that. For my eyes anyway.
