  1. For Sale: S&B 8x56 illuminated

It’s not the mag it’s the FOV that’s my issue. What I’m seeing distance wise 8x is a little too much. The last outing I went on I had a ffp scope and I could make out the ret at 5x which is were the FOV was perfect. So no shot was taken.

  4. Hants FLD improvements in turnaround times

It could be a possible priority thing. Admin has suffered a lot with Hants for many reasons. Ask for a open ticket. That way you can clear the land.
  5. Hants FLD improvements in turnaround times

Just wanted to offer my thanks to Hants fire arm team on open forum. I know those guys have had issues in the past. But my variation went in last Monday and it was back on the mat Saturday morning. What I wanted was long winded indeed. But it came through in great time. Thank you to...

  7. schmidt and bender disappointment

god is in the detail Edi. The reason why scopes transmit more light than they used to is down to the fact we can now machine in ways we couldn't before. Hell we can print Ti moderators now. The design can not change in any far out way. The process of making the parts can. All you have done is...
  8. schmidt and bender disappointment

Edi. Focus of light and transmition of light are two very different things. And in a way you have just answered my question by completely misunderstanding it. If you tock all the lenses apart form the obj lens of you scope and let the light come striaght down the tube what size dot would you...
  9. schmidt and bender disappointment

Edi your first responce to my question was to confuse focusing of light. With mythical "light gathering". 762scots second response below gives you a better idea of what is going on. But there are limitations as to what a lens can see. Also there is a reson why lens are shaped the way they are...
  10. schmidt and bender disappointment

Not the same thing Edi. And no relevance in this case!
  11. schmidt and bender disappointment

Please can someone explane to me why a bigger objective means a scope can gather more light! Please also include any papers written on the subject. Internal machanics play a bigger role in light transmission than objective size. It is perfectly reasonable to assume that the redfiled has a...
  12. Firearms fees proposals

How? All it means is that a email will sit in a inbox rather than some sheats of paper sat in a tray. Taff makes a good piont. Why the need to make a 1 for 1 change a paper work issue? Online system! We live in hope! Im just about to put my ticket in to have 3 rifles removed and 1 added. But...
  13. Blaser K95 with moderator

A 120grain bullet would not kick you hard. Even in the light wieght K95. If you found recoil to be a problem put a brake on the end. Those K95 are somthing else. Nice light rifle. Very "pointable". I would not consider a mod for it but if you did get a sl5. If you can find one that has a mod...

Well that's all good for you then! Spot on.
  15. Fixed Scope with the longest eye relief.
