  1. Fenn vs Bodygrip for squirrels

Many years ago went on a squirrel trapping course with Mr Fineren, he was going to publish plans IIRC but I don't know if any exist. I just measure an old box and make another when I need them. The boxes have offset holes and when I've used them for squirrels I've never caught anything else. I...
  2. Fenn vs Bodygrip for squirrels

I've used bodygrip traps set in a wooden box and they've worked well. Details here: Fourteenacre | Fineren Bodygrip Box for Squirrels
  3. Bloody dandelions

Not as many flowering dandelions this year as last unfortunately. Our honey bees do very well on all the dandelions, and, as said, they are great for other bees and insects such as oil beetles. Our lawn and fields are covered in seed heads now and plenty of finches about. It'll not be long...
  4. Lead melter?

I've only used the Lee melters. I've used the 10lb production pot IV for over 10 years and cast thousands of pure lead round ball and a few hundred slug. It's fine and the only problem is the bottom pouring hole occasionally needs a bit of a clear with a thin nail in a bit of wood. I have picked...
  5. 6.5 creedmoor refusal for fox.

There's a table at the end of section 12 of the .GOV guide that gives you a guide. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/firearms-law-guidance-to-the-police-2012/guide-on-firearms-licensing-law-accessible-version#chapter-12-good-reason-to-possess-a-firearm
  6. Powder storage

Heard similar down here about all reloading powder needing to be in a box. Mine is as I have black powder. I found regs and guidance confusing and could be much clearer if people are expected to follow it.
  7. Uk gardens

I think it depends on what you have and what you use it for. There's plenty of people who have a decent sized garden they don't use much so room to allow a bit of wildlife in. I remember a friend who always liked spraying everything moaning he didn't see any bees on his runner beans. We've...
  8. Level actions - typical usage

Thanks both, £1500 is a bit too much for me.
  9. Level actions - typical usage

Aren't they either 4 or 5 in the tube so section 1?
  10. Chain saw sharpening

I just use one of those kits with a round file, flat file and a guage. I take my time to line up the markers on file holder and try and do it regularly so I only need a few stokes per tooth to sharpen it up. Rakers are taken down but not by too much.
  11. 22 lr subsonic recommendations

I've found all the subs I've used will go through things like rats and squirrels. As I usually bait an area and shoot against a solid backstop it doesn't matter too much. I tend to use SK for target use, accurate in my CZ. I did see SK made a hollow point round bit it seems to be discontinued...
  12. Crimping issue

I don't think you can solve the problem without knowing the cause. More details such as brass make, number of firings, trim length etc might help. I load several rifle calibers and don't crimp most of them. I do crimp my 303 rounds for practical rifle as the cheap bullets I use can be a little...
  13. How the hell do you send a knife now?

Legally you need to verify the age of the buyer so sending the knife any other way via the PO will not meet your legal obligation. I expect the reasoning behind the new law to force anyone, including private sellers, to apply for a knife selling licence and all the costs and stuff that goes...
  14. Right to roam

As an owner of a couple of small pieces of woodland it constantly saddens me how little people care for the environment, especially councils and other government agencies. Perhaps I've been unfortunate but most people seem to view it as a dumping ground and have no idea about conservation etc...
  15. Semi auto shotgun

Can you legally put in more than 2 in a mag tube of a S2? I know more than two 2" cartridges will fit but I thought you would be braking the law to load 3? Only asking as I shoot slug comps (at an approved range etc) and it would be useful in some comps to be able to load more than two in the mag.
