  1. Wanted: 4stable sticks

Thanks @hendrix's rifle for your kind offer, but the contact form came up trumps ( can we still say that get into the US?). The OEM in France sent me the replacement rear yoke free of charge and with a refreshing lack of packaging - just a small cardboard box with the part rattling around...
  2. Section 1 shotguns banned soon ??

I loved my Benelli M2 which was 10+1 which I got for pest control. Never fired more than three at pests so I gave it up. I some ways I wish I’d kept it but that was two renewals ago, so I couldn’t have claimed the original reason in all good conscience. I prefer to try to demonstrate the spirit...
  3. Hik Micro Lynx 3.0 25mm - any experiences?

You and me both - I bought the Lynx LH25 3.0 at the Shooting Show. Can’t see that you could need anything better, for deer at long distances and detailed images at up to 200m
  4. The off hand challenge thread.

Does it count if you use a red dot sight? Roy Lupton has one to shoot his rifle canted, as seen on Fieldsports Britain. I thought about it for my short barrelled woodland .308, but as quick to wind my scope back to 1.5 and shoot - maybe…
  5. Just about enough time...

Great write up - target rich environment!
  6. The off hand challenge thread.

Shot crows this morning offhand, trying to eat eggs on the Farm that provides me with my breakfast eggs… .22lr subs with 35mm scope on x3. The .22lr has iron sights so might dispense with scope altogether and try to learn that. How hard can it be…😳
  7. Alpex lite as a spotter & range finder?

I use a Leica Rangemaster - tiny thing x25mm objective, great glass, runs on batteries for ever and I use it sparingly as I know what a shootable deer looks like in my scope - for range. Inexpensive and very good quality. I can’t range for toffee - so I stay within my limits. When I do guess and...
  8. Stalking in mist!!

I tried this but gave up in a stalk when I couldn’t get steady in gusting wind, on quad sticks. I find tripod even worse but that might be my lack of tripod experience. I shot my first deer off I vanguard tripod but moved onto quads soon after and never looked back. Mist has really helped foxing...
  9. @John Gryphon Didn't you want some kind of bike to get you up

Are they any good for deer surveys?
  10. ISA filled

Have a look at Money Saving Expert - instant access understandable information about options without the confusion of sales blurb.
  11. E.Rizzini 20g shotgun valuation/query

Worth keeping if you’re going to use it but if not then you might give it to someone starting out
  12. Good Intel...

Enjoyed that - nice buck! Will you keep the head?
  13. Am I just being a tight git ?

This was me, as well. I was a weekly clay shooter - 100 sporting with two good friends. It feels like a lifetime ago when that was just about affordable. The only cheap(er) shooting sport I can think of is Air rifle. It’s not about cheap it’s about value, for me. So I still shoot clays perhaps...
  14. Hik Alpex Pro

Agreed on this, although my thermal lost the detail before my Alpex lite in the mist, which made knowing my backstops critical - the thermal image was still there, but in a sea of grey, so then it was hunt the source with the Alpex - finger off trigger!
