  3. Watch the grouse shooting debate today from 4.30pm

Watched the whole thing, very good, knowledgeable and well informed contributions from all but one speaker. Thanks to all those that spoke up for the grouse shooting community and all the folk they support and sustain in the rural areas. 👍 👍 Cheers A. M.
  4. Watch the grouse shooting debate today from 4.30pm

An excellent contribution to the debate from Robbie Moore the Conservative MP for Keighley & Ilkley. Well done 👏👏 I never saw the whole debate but he was good. Cheers A.M. As an edit I just managed to rewind it on line just now. Another good contribution from John Lamont as well. Cheers A.M.
  5. David’s JAK (Just a knife)

Any update on "David's" JAK ?
  6. Swallow, Swift and Martin watch!

First Swallow on Monday 7th, only a fleeting glance in the lee of the big conifers. Nice to see good weather for the arrival. Still loads of pinks (1000s) about and we have been moving them off the winter wheat (about 6" high now) and the "peeping" spring barley regularly. A big load...
  7. Any Plasterers Among Us? Ceiling Advice Please

Everything pretty much covered in this reply. I'll add a few more thoughts. The problem of overboarding a ceiling and trying to marry up to the edge of an existing cornice is never easy. I have seen as previously mentioned a "shadow moulding" being made around the edge, but this way creates...

  9. Shooting the lead doe

  10. For Sale: Holiday Cottage Rental in the Highlands

A quick update after my bump up. I had hoped that after 18 months from our application we would have received our furnished holiday let licence. But it seems that this great thought out idea (not!!!) by the SNP is taking an eternity to administer but with the inefficiencies in government...

  13. David’s JAK (Just a knife)

Hi John, I would be delighted if it was possible to have another go with JAK as my attempt in the summer could have been better. Many Thanks A.M.
  14. Best sausage casing... that won’t burst in the pan.

Tried Hog casings and found them a bit tough (grilled) and then on to the sheep casings but as MattW said better to soak them overnight. Recently tried collagen casings, they were ok but I got another lot of sheep casings for my next batch. Cheers
  15. Garage Conversion Deer Larder - Part 1

Just a wee thought. Be sure to make the top of the external part of the ceiling and where the walls meet the external stone walls as mouse proof as possible as the wee barstewards can play merry hell with your pipe insulation behind your studwork and do not take long to bare a freshly...
