Still in progress but at min, it's 27" 1/12 twist barrel, Lapua cases, 26.4 grains of N135 and a CCI BR4 primer. Loaded to mag length with a 55 grain Nosler BT. With a 50 it's over 3700fps with 26 grains of N133

I'd imagine it would be quite a bit faster as my .223 runs 55 grain bullets at 3600 without trying too hard. According to the chrony anyway.

I wish I'd not swapped mine. Only thing I found was mine (10x mag min) was hopeless in low light and was a real pain to try and find foxes in the lamp. However, for shooting long range bunnies, crows etc and dialling in blah blah blah it was excellent and I do miss it. Get an illuminated ret.

People will always choose to use whoever they like... If James work wasn't up to standard then he wouldn't be as busy as he his would he? As it is I've had work done by James and by Steve Kershaw and I'd use either one again without a second thought. Some of you need to get out more quit...

ok so if the .338winmag isn't going to be quite as great as I thought, what would you build on that action? For what it will cost to buy the rifle, a rebarrel really isn't an issue.

Hi guys, anybody here with experience of the .338 winmag? I've just found one and something is stirring inside me telling me to get it bought.... Any pros and cons of it etc? Cheers

The X has one less back pocket, zipped ventilation slits on the sides, Velcro adjusters on the back of the knees and I would actually say is more comfortable to wear over the older model, maybe even slightly lighter too. Only time will tell if they last as long though.
