Head torch

i have one of these, the long strip lights up everything around you making it ideal for gralloching, rechargable and not too expensive,

i have 2, one for indoors for diy and the other for outdoors.

I'm sad enough to be into torches. I've an embarrassingly large collection and one thing I always harp on about is CRI. Ignore everything else, CRI is important. It's the measure by which the LED renders colour, with 100 being natural sunlight.

Basically a nasty, poor CRI light will illuminate but not give you any actual clarity of what it is you are looking at. Is it a stick, or is it a dog turd? Is it the deer you shot at last light, or is it a log?

4000k high cri (90+) is a winner.
So any recommendations?

I have been using a Middle of Lidl special for 3 years. No issues.
I haveca Leuco rechargeable one in the car. Also v good

I use a Petzl Aria 2. Comfy with long battery life. Red, green and blue light options for different scenarios. Can’t fault it

Don’t buy the Silva ones. £48 and I threw it away tonight in disgust after only a few months of occasional use. Batteries drain even if unused for a few days and even quicker if used in the field - it is essentially useless.

ALi express, plenty of 90+CRI options from the likes of Wurkkos, Sofin, Skilhunt (I've the H300R and it's really compact for an 18650)
No idea what the cri number is but I've been blown away by the quality of the cheap Sofirn hs40 I bought on Amazon, when you compare it to £30 torches you get in hiking shops they function like a cheap toy from a cracker.

Looks like a copy of a Fenix or Zebralight - probably made in the same region. Looks like a solid option for that money!
