Lovely thing, I hope someone snaps it up!

Might be worth adding if it's nitro proofed (and if reproofed when).

Also the bore!

Is it Nitro proofed ?
Are the barrels sleeved.
Thank you.

Sorry I’ve no real knowledge and no one to ask about the guns history prior to 1970, I’ve shot with it a handful of times on driven shoots just for the craic (dressed accordingly lol) 👍

Take a photo of underside flats of barrels so we can see the proof marks. Doesn't look sleeved. If anything rebarrelled. Is there a ring about 3 inches from the breech end of the barrels around the barrel?

The Proof Acts lay down that no small arm may be sold, exchanged or exported, exposed or kept for sale or exchange or pawned, unless and until it has been fully proven and duly marked. The maximum penalty is £5,000 for each offence. Higher penalties where, for instance, the sale of a number of guns constitutes one offence, can apply.

Can you provide a photo/answer these questions - above , otherwise for the seller/purchaser, its a hell of a risk - one a sensible person could not take.
Still interested though.

Now added photo of proof marks, can anyone date this gun…. DM me with your interest and offers thanks.

Willowbank.
ideally need to see the flats of the barrels to see if nitro etc and get more info

All we seeing there is Birmingham proof house mark 1868 - 1925

Well that’s something … pre 1925, I thought that was the ‘flats of the barrels’ would that age of shotgun even be nitro proofed?

I’ll get it out again and have another look.

I’ve shot with it a number of times, true I used very light loads but I’m still here and in one piece lol.

take barrels completely off the action a take pics of the flat bit! and yes later in that date range would be nitro

Ok so the nitro proof mark is London. Odd. And the Birmingham proof mark clearer too

Puts it I guess 1925-1954. But get a gunsmith to confirm
