Boyds service

That's not their usual form. My son and I bought 3 stocks from them last year and no issues at all except for a quickly resolved issue with customs🙈
Like a lot of US companies they respond quicker to phone calls than emails but we couldn't fault their ordering process.

Can you keep us posted regarding customs & delivery once here please? Looking at their stocks myself for my M77

Quick update on the boyds stock ordered on the 22nd January which has arrived this morning, after about a week or so in UPS warehouse awaiting clearance. It has taken over a week of emails and phone calls with UPS customer services to get things sorted and moving..🙄...So including the rifle stock price and import duties the total has come to around £363....import duties was around £86...

Similar to our own experience Jason, UPS are the weak link not Boyds. Hope you're happy with it👍🏻

Yes pj very happy, it was the only stock i could find for ruger 10/22 competition model as it has 2 action screws...Great service from boyds but as you say problem's with UPS ...😬...

Buying 2 stocks helps to keep the shipping/import costs down if you can find someone to buddy up with and buy the 2 together.
When i bought mine i priced another and it was a no brainer to add it to the order.

Which stock is it?
I was looking at the at one stock but the LOP range seemed more suitable for children.

Boyds at one thumbhole adjustable...took a little bit of fettling for perfect fit....yea it's small but not 2 bad as I've adjusted it 2 suit as I'm not that tall..lol....got the shady camo, it really has pimped up the look of the rifle...16in fluted barrel custom competition model , nice and compact...😁

Interesting.
For obvious reasons cheaper than going via
UK importer and retailer. But not staggeringly so.
I was quoted £410 for an At1 uk retail.
Could I ask what stock and spec you ordered.
Cheers

Boyds at 1 thumbhole adjustable shady camo laminate for the ruger 10/22 custom comp. Yes surprisingly not a big lot of difference , if u can find one in the uk that's the correct one and spec u want then happy days...As i said the frustration was with UPS...

Can I ask what the hold up was with UPS? They’ve sent me an email this morning asking for an import licence. Any tips on getting it resolved?

I sent the following to UPS when they held up a recoil lug. MDT had sent it to me free but had put on the description for a Tikka Rifle..... which set their AI alarm bells ringing. I had similar with order for a bipod and magazine from MDT and did similar

After this was sent just went through .....

To confirm the item that has been sent to me is not a firearm or a part of a firearm. It is a small piece of metal approximately 2cms by 1cm that is attached to the stock of a rifle chassis - i.e. the thing the firearm 'sits' in. It is therefore NOT COVERED BY ITAR OR UK IMPORTATION requirements so does not need a RIF declaration.

Maybe pointing out it wasn't ITAR or needed a RIF helped .....?

As of above...I never received an email for a import licence but I did for a RIF declaration. I spoke to customer services who told me to email back saying the item i was receiving did not require a RIF, and as usual its a call centre some where in Asia 🙄. The guy i spoke to gave me his email address and after few emails later he did help with the process, but the stock was still not getting released as I was checking the tracking number. So back to customer services again through email and got someone who was really helpful, who then told me it wasn't being released as there was no contact number. So once I emailed her the contact number I could see then it was released pending payment through the email I got or on delivery...don't think I'd do it again. 😅
