Heating oil

Just a heads up for those with oil boilers, the price of kerosene has more than doubled since the orange moron decided to create a new war, meaning that kerosene is currently running at £1.32 / litre ex vat!!

I have broken out the emergency jumper stash and mandated only one shower a week until normality resumes!

Just ordered a 1000l on Friday, tank ran out!
I will let you know what I pay when invoice comes in but dont think it will be in the 90s.
@TringSaint still cheaper than mains or tanked gas.

Apparently the issue is that the terminals are short of kerosene and as planes use it too, they have the buying power over domestic home owners.

Expect your holiday this summer to get a lot more expensive if this continues beyond a few weeks!

I was lucky too, to buy previous the Orange loon's antics.
Local here was charged £1.50 per litre according to local grapevine, (Possibly an emergency delivery though) :-|

After previous delivery was late by 2 weeks and I nearly run out I ordered 300l in 5 l cans as an emergency stash that was £147 for 100l from amazon , even that has gone up to 199 per 100l now 😳

In South West Scotland you can by Kero at the pumps, anybody know what pump price is in Stranraer?
Edit - it was 20p a litre in lockdown so the savings from then are now being taken.

The cheapest I ever got it was 9.3p litre. When we did our cottage rebuild I put in a 3000 litre bunded tank. I used to buy a load and split it between neighbours. 3 k litres was enough for 18 months and always tried to buy in may or June when demand was low.
What I can't fathom out is that DT has spent nigh on 2 months getting the carrier group to the gulf so anybody with oil or gas CH should know if there was any action the price of oil and gas would sky rocket. Plenty of warning to get tanks filled up just in case.
