While I fully appreciate that TSD requires income from trade members, tonight is a prime example of the frustrations that open access advertising for trade members poses. Friday 06/02/26 at 21.30 and 21 sales posts in the first two pages from the same trade member - many offering a very similar product but for different brands!

Perhaps those few of us that are honorable enough to pay for Supporter Membership should have some way of reducing the Ad we see?

Can't see the problem myself. - :lol::lol::lol:

Shooter123 does appear to have posted his entire inventory as separate posts which doesn't help.1772865836476.webp

One man’s rubbish may be another man’s treasure!

I see your point, perhaps a bit much on initial viewing, especially if you’re scrolling through a page of similar listed products.

However, it’s quickly broken up by other threads being interacted with, so personally, I don’t see it being too much of an issue.

Especially considering the scrolling and clicking ‘next page’ process will take you probably no more than 10 seconds!

I agree completely 👏

In instances where it’s the same product but has different models for specific rifles etc, it should be one ad with the options detailed in that ad. I similarly am getting p@ssed off seeing the same large numbers of adverts being repeated time and time again. I fear with the ever increasing profusion of better 3D printers that this issue is only ever going to get worse as people try to recoup their costs. No objections to other 3D printers out there on TSD who are entirely more reasonable in their frequency and type of postings.

You could make a trade member, and non-trade member section.
Trade member whenever clicking onto the desired subject would be the topic that opens up, then up at the top (like off topics political board) you could select that for non-trade member sales.

The sacrifice? Posts selling the same general item need too be lumped in together, If your selling hikmicro scopes you take the time too formulate a genuine post with all the items your offering, there's no limit on posts per-say but If your selling items that are similar, they should be lumped together - Could also maybe give trade members an increased limit in terms of titles in classified too I believe letter spamming its a 177 characters at the moment.

Less overall posts, better viewability for trade members, and less "annoying" popups for regular members?

Quick update on this one and thank you all for the input. This issue was on the list of things to fine tune when taking over the site. We have been in touch directly with a couple of members who have advertised like this recently and I believe this will reduce instances quickly. Our immediate focus is on maintaining the site but in due course, we plan to clarify matters like this in Classified rules. We want to make sure we get any tweaks right, ideally in one go, so this will not happen overnight.

We have had various suggestions for site development tweaks such as @slider 's original post which will take longer to consider what is and is not practical. In the meantime, if you find someone irritating on the classifieds (or otherwise), please do make use of the "Ignore" button on their profile.
