What are the absolute essential gear needed to

I'm not looking for expensive, nore buy cheap and pay twice.

I personally make knifes so I'm over geared for a good gralloching and unzipping knife.

And gun and ammo wise

Would appericate links. With recommendations.

Mostly looking for recommendations on:
Binos (needed??)
Thermal mono (needed??)
Clothes
Boots (will any full ankle hiking boots do?)
Back pack, which ones are good all in?
Tactical vest??
Sundries???

But what else is going to make it to the list?

Thanks in advance.

Binos and thermal - recommend thermal binos and cut out the complexity

Clothes - ridgeline or percussion are great at the entry level

Boots - are the number 1 thing for me - I went two seasons with hiking books before buying a pair of CRISPI pro hunters and I regard them as the primary purchase for anyone new

Backpack - not necessary nor is a tactical vest There is storage on a bino harness about that maybe a fanny bag for gloves knife, hooks and cable ties + HEAD TORCH

Rifle - I have had a Howa and Bergara and while i have had success from both I would say go to a tikka as this is the gold standard for stalking rifles and is unparalleled when it comes to weight.

Glass - a lot of Schmidt and bender men on here for £300-£350 used - fixed magnification is great for stalking as it rules out issues which come with variability including parallax error.

Final word: a stalking rifle is not a bench rest rifle, simplicity is key, your set up needs to be spartan - no extra rubbish to carry with you filling up your pockets.

Rifle
Sticks (Viper flex suit me)
Good glass (scope and Binos)
knife (mora will do)
Bone saw (sagen are good)
disposable gloves
Cable ties
Small Med kit (Inc finger bandages!)
Good jacket and hat that works well in the wet (exposure is a killer)

The rest will come in time

Rifle, binoculars and knife. That’s it, oh knowledge.
This.

Add some bullets if you want to use the knife and a scope makes it a bit easier!

When I got my own first rifle second hand it was a BRNO Zkk 601 without a moderator. Came with a sling and I think I was able to put on a 6x44 mm Meopta scope and bipod. Including 40 bullets I was £400. Although the world knew about me pulling the trigger, I loved that setup. I've taken everything off of it to hopefully shoot a roe with open sights and I will do it this year (I hope)!

Everything else just makes life easier. Now, I wouldn't leave the house without the roe sack, thermal, quad sticks, midge spray and little bone saw (for ribs).

Need to remember the gloves. They are above the fridge but I never remember them!

1)
Rifle and ammo.
Decent boots.
Warm, comfortable clothing in dull colours.
Binoculars.
Knife
Drag rope.
Backpack.

2)
Latex/nitrile gloves.
Blue roll.
Anti bacterial wipes
First aid kit.
Carcass tags.
Plastic bags for liver.

3)
Quad sticks and/or bipod.
Sound moderator.

4)
Thermal.

With the exception of the thermal, you should be able to get yourself fully kitted out with all of the above items for a total outlay of under £500 if you keep your eye on the classifieds section of this site.

Sticks, thermal,ex army boots trousers and jacket. Hat and good gloves. Mora knife. Wet wipes dispo gloves plastic bags and cable ties. Quake claw sling for rifle.
You can now pick up an old but good Pulsar thermal for £500 on here. Scope is up to you but best value scope would be a Delta Titanium about £450 ish S/H.
Assuming Roe or Munties you should be able to cope with.
Anything bigger other more experienced SD members will advice.

A rifle, scope and ammo you can shoot straight, binos, sharp knife and length of rope are the basics for me everything helps make it easier.
