If you use the Pro Shot chamber cleaning kit then..

I bought 1k off Amazon 😆 if I remember correctly they cost me about £10.

Just looked back on the order, i was wrong, it was 2k.
They should last me a while, i think i need to find another use for them.

Any ideas for cheaper cotton cleaning rolls that fit a 12 bore shotgun. The pro shot ones are expensive.

toilet paper?
In all seriousness for 12b, I use one of these fluffy rods to remove the worst of the dirt then a smaller oil swab.
i don't have dedicated rods for 410/28b and just use paper - one piece to remove the dirt then one to oil.
But I would happily use paper for all shotguns.

You can also buy a length of plastic rod for a couple of quid and drill a suitably sized whole through the end and avoid shelling out for the kit in the first place.

I use a bore guide when cleaning but still find I’m wiping out carbon with the bore cleaning kit

I bought a huge roll of 4x2 from Henry Krank 18 years ago, and a steel 1" diam leather hole punch.........still got a chunk of it left.
For the chamber I just cut a 4x2 piece off and wrap it round a bit of dowel, squirt of brake cleaner and twist it in the chamber.

if you straighten and bend a coat hanger against itself to make a double "rod"
Wedge the dental swap into the "V" and it becomes and excellent bolt lug recess cleaner

I then bent mine into a dog leg to use it like a hand Drill and Brace
