Old age and getting run down

I'm 59 and just retired but already feel I need to be careful.
Weight management was never an issue up until 50, and it just all naturally sorted itself.
I've always enjoyed off road motorbikes, excellent way of keeping fit and was pretty good on them but after 40 noted the cracks forming.
Once bounced everytime and really couldn't hurt myself, not now.
Snapped acl
Crushed foot
Pulled pecs
Strained achilles
None of this happened before.
The bikes are still in the garage as I don't want, or need to sell them, but usage is dwindling although the head is still up for it anytime.

I think we all have to acclimatise to the inevitable at our own rates, then come to some happy tapering solution.

Age is just a number. However, it is a different number for each of us. Some are born lucky, some do not help themselves. The body slows down as age sets in. Most people work for too long as they think that money is more important than time. Keep interested, keep active, but work within yourself, and be realistic in what you need to achieve. Finally, keep doing it.

I'm 76 today still feel 18 in my head was a bin man last ten years at work which kept me fit
Been beating and odd job gardening
been cutting back on my weight to hopefully reduce cholesterol gone too far got muscle wastage missed last days beating and beaters day Blow the cholesterol back on the Haggis

Love this thread, I'm the same as most of you, I don't think I have an organ that hasn't had treatment in the last 10 years, thank **** the NHS doesn't work they'd have finished me off by now if it did!

66 btw, just come back from 2 weeks stalking and off to North Wales hill walking in a couple of weeks.

"3 Wheels on my wagon and I'm still rollin' along..."

I'm 74 still stalking dragging red deer back, up to half a mile. I walk about 5 miles every day, dig the garden. I've got sciatica but don't let it stop me, yes it hurts but don't let it win.
Just been diagnosed with prostate cancer, and having hormone treatment but won't let that change the way I live.
