Just looking for some ideas I have a space cleared out in the shed after a cull of rubbish 😂 im looking to put a larder fridge or a drinks fridge to hang the odd roe was wondering if anyone has any suggestions or pictures of there set up if similar to what im having to do. If seen a few pictures ect on here and posts but none in a garden shed

Here's mine. I'm able to handle 4 muntjac or 2 roe or a single fallow or sika with this. It's not the best but then again only cost me £60 for the winch and £10 for the brackets from b&q. The hanging rail was from an old trampoline being thrown out which I drilled two holes into for it to sit onto the brackets. the fridge was free to collect as the bulb didn't light up, but other than that it works fine.
This is only a temporary measure until I get my new set up with a bigger fridge and purpose built larder. I've got to get my kennels and utility room built first though to keep the Mrs happy 😉

That’s a nice set up mate is that a drinks fridge? My garage was converted in to another room its now the wife’s office 🤬otherwise it would have been going in there

Hopefully not a silly question but what works better an old drinks fridge or a larder fridge?

Not a shed it's a double garage ..
But works well for me
Hot water via a static caravan combi boiler and a propane bottle .
Double sink drainer from gumtree
Hand-wash basin from ebay

Thats impressive! That will make mine look like a shack with a fridge😂 Im assuming you butcher your own deer ? I have a friend of a friend that’s a butcher so he does all my roe of a small sum and a couple stakes or a bag of mince 😂

How many deer do you put through there a year? Looks amazing!

If its got a fan in there then it is supposed to be better. My larder fridge doesn't have a fan and the maximum time I have had a roe in there is just over 2 weeks (I wanted to see if it made the meat any better). It got a little bit of furry mould on the inside but that's all. Turns out that it doesn't make the meat any better / more tender that I could notice so the roe gets butchered after a couple of days.

I've said on on here a couple of times but I bought the Tenderum fridge kit yonks ago from Bushwear which basically was a coring drill bit and a piece of 22mm curtain pole. Providing that you don't have the cooling unit in the sides of the fridge, just drill 2 holes, stick a pole on and then blank it off. All bits can be bought from B&Q, screwfix etc).

I have had 3x roe all hanging in that fridge off of the 22m (hollow) pole so it is plenty strong enough!

It’s a great set up. I love the whole cycle from stalk to plate and learning the butchery is every bit as much part of the interest as any other part.

I haven’t worked out what my limits are for family consumption yet - I’ve 4 meat eating sons! So while I’ve got the EHO approval I’m still a way off being ready to sell anything. My set up is chill and skin in that garage and butcher and pack in the kitchen. Just need access to more deer now to work out my limits!

It might be bigger than folks would use in the UK, but I have a walk-in cooler at my hunt camp. We can hang three full-size whiteail deer at a time in it, with a hanging weight of up to about 160 pounds each. I have a powered winch in the ceiling and a 2 inch stainless bar for hanging. Each carcass is hung by a gambrel, and the gambrel is attached to an s-shaped meat hook that slides on the 2 inch bar. The cold is provided by a window air conditioner built into one wall and set up with a gizmo that tricks the AC unit into thinking it is not cold enough yet. The whole outfit is run by a 2.5 kw generator. Next time I am up to the camp I will try to remember to take some photos. Here is a link to show how to use the controllers:
