I believe that it is shot, shotgun or muzzle loader, only.
Great blue heron, not a great picture. As with the Back-Capped Chickadee they seem so similar to our species at home you could easily be mistaken into seeing them as Grey Heron and Coal Tit respectively. They operate in the same ecological niches as our native species.
