All with no solid foundation or evidence just spurious claims.

I listened to some sparrow the other day telling me he had life membership of BASC as if it marked him out as a higher authority on all matters "shooting". I had been trying to work out whether he was man or monkey, but as soon as he said that, I knew well enough. Professional committee member. Any club or association will do...doesn't really matter which or what.
They are a breed. Sad, lonely, desperate to be wanted by someone, hungry for some sort of assumed intellectual authority over the fellow man he is trying to look down upon. A lemming looking for a cliff edge and a group of companions to jump with. Most people like this never have an original thought in their lives. Intellectually speaking, they are -in my view- pigeon toed and usually pigeon chested. The product of generations of careful line breeding. The wall-flowers at the dance who sneer at the real men bagging the skirt that they would secretly be glad to wear.
Because it suits them in their aim of destroying what we do, the EA, DEFRA, HSE and others are only too glad to accept these organisations' and their supporters' self assumed credentials as "The Voice Of Shooting" (and all the other outrageously pompous epithets of their own design. It is a means of self justification for them, when imposing otherwise unjustifiable restrictions upon us.
So in effect, these organisations and many of their members-in aligning with our enemies and their lies- have become Uncle Toms, Judases or Quislings. Take your pick, but in any case, they are useful idiots in support of the miserable crooks that seek to impose their dirty, warped and indecent ideologies upon us.
When they are through with us, they will turn their filthy attentions to some other innocent they have marked down as fodder for their grinder.
The Quislings, when at last sitting in the wreckage they have created for us, are brought to book, they will just shrug their shoulders (as with hunting and other débacles already in their wake) and talk about the inevitability of it all. "We did what we thought was best" . Well, thank you boys, but we'd rather you just stood your ground, instead of flogging it from under us. They are in the same club as Mr Starmer with his efforts over the Chagos Islands. I am surprised BASC haven't started a committee on pollution reparations.
Push him any harder and he'll start with his usual lines on whether-as a beastly bully- you are fit to hold a licence.

I’m amazed that despite countless pages of pro lead shot restriction posts on shooting forums the author was unable to quote any scientific data that quantified the impact of lead shot use on non wetland bird species that justified further restrictions a fact conveniently omitted from the article.
The first sentence of the article begins “BASC has actively opposed restrictions on lead ammunition since they were first recommended in a 1983 Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution report”. In the interests of clarity concerning the role of BASC’s opposition to the latest restrictions on the use of lead shot perhaps it should acknowledge the effort spent by certain BASC employees in promoting the acceptance of further restrictions at the same time as BASC’s official policy was to oppose them.
Whatever real reasons lay behind the propaganda war to have lead shot use restrictions accepted by the shooting community there is no disputing the fact that representation in the best interests of all who shoot was severely lacking and the full impact of that lack of support is yet to be felt.
