Saw my first swallow yesterday, in Sussex. Driving down to Battle there it was sitting in a small dead tree that overhung a river. Did not see any others though.

Just seen what I believe was a swallow very high above the village, it’s about the correct date for them to arrive here the 14th April.

If it was one of our villages annual visitors l will be able to tell in the next day or two.

Nevertheless what a wonderful sight, my spirits lifted for the second time this year !

Saw my first Swallow in Kent today, about one o'clock in Detling near Maidstone. It was all on its own.

Spotted 3 swallows over the field at the front of the yard this evening, glad to see them back. Was at the friend's house on the shores of Lough Neagh last week and his had been back since around the previous weekend.
