Bipod/sticks.

As chris has mentioned, decide what kind of shooting you do. Is it woodland, where shots will be a bit closer and a bipod wont do, is it flat fields where if you lie down a bipod might be dangerous, or is it open undulating ground where theres plenty of places to lie down with a bipod?
I have all so i use both.
Im not a fan of these removable bipods, just too much faffing about so i use a harris and my sticks are a set of vipers.
I did try a set of the hill quad sticks for a day and was mighty impressed by them.
Just depends on how much you want to spend.

Hi guys , recommendations for an affordable bipod/sticks for the tikka t3x in 270?
Thanks
Luke
With my ground the bi pod came off years ago, a harris bi-pod was the thing to buy but I soon come to understand it was much better to stand and shoot off a set of quad sticks than lay down in the muddy gateway of sheep pi##...
They won't work very well in woodland/tall crops, with last nights fox the wheat was just as tall as it's shoulders, but easy to see standing on sticks.
I use my .270 with @takbok kit on B&Q sticks. Good value :tiphat:

Started with garden canes ,tried Bushwear sticks switched to 4 stable sticks very good but restricted movement.
Now in tackle tart mode treated myself to Viperflex styx whilst laid up awaiting another operation.
As already said get the best you can but try them 1st ,most shops have a variety on display 👍

Amazing range of views here - proves you’ve got to find out what you like yourself. I’ve tried b and q canes but Viper Flex with fifth leg are amazing. I also have a Spartan bipod with a gun smith adaptor for the occasional prone shot. I’m shooting roe in East Lothian. Last time I went hind stalking further north I switched back to the Harris for the extra length and stability. I’m glad I did.
