Sika deer Ireland. Zero.

In old money, with a .270, 2” high at 100yds. Point and squirt out to 200yds with 130-140 gr ammo. The 150’s can be a bit
loopier.
I prefer the 140’s, they mostly exit, copper 120’s are excellent if you can get them.

This is your first stalk…? (As per your recent post) You should know your holdover/drops at all ethical distances before shooting an animal. If you don’t, I’d suggest you spend some time learning your rifle & bullet.

Thanks. Im using hornady 130
Decent round, can be a bit splashy with shoulder placement, generally doesn’t exit. Try for neck shots. With body shots sika will almost always run, and mostly they run where you don’t want to follow.

I just bought 100 Hornady 130 lead in .270, ‘cause I couldn’t get copper anywhere.I bought another 60 for the 6.5

Can’t wait for the reaction I’m going to provoke with that admission. Particularly from @Smellydog and a couple of others.
Aahh well, what goes around comes around, if you can’t take it, don’t hand it out.

I’m not dead yet.
The decision was purely pragmatic. I’ve been trying to source copper ammo for 8 months, no one has any more than a couple of boxes. I figure that the ammo situation is not going to improve anytime soon, so I stocked up with what I could get last week, I was down to my last 2 or 3 boxes in both calibres.
I have now maxed out both certs allowances.
If things improve I’ll try to trade it back against copper , if not, I have enough ammo for a couple more years.
Diesel could be a bigger problem.

Very pragmatic and if you get lost out stalking ( presuming you live long enough after ingesting all that nasty lead ) you’ll be easy to find as well just follow the trail of birds of prey who’ve croaked it 🤔😜

I’m a bit more cautious about the lead than I used to be. I trim and discard with great generosity and I no longer feed the discard to my friends or my dogs.
The grey crows, magpies and ravens may eat as much as they can choke down, fuk the loss.
