Logging shooting activity

Wondered if anyone had logged shooting activity via TVP website? I didn’t see an appropriate heading to use. I’m familiar with 101 and calling in but the wait is long and I feel the police probably have better things to do. Do you get an incident number?
I rarely call in my shooting activity but had someone confront me last night. I have no issue with that and just be polite and give zero information beyond I have permission and everything’s legal (I’ve learned that trying to justify your position is pointless and unnecessary) he was agitated but not aggressive.
Also, I’m thinking some sort of document that could be attached to an email with all relevant details would save a bit of time. Anyone do this?

It rolls over and click something else again it asks for you details continue then it will ask you what you want to advise click return by e mail it will generate a notification sheet with request number after that you should get a response if possible give 2 days notice

Hi Pete 101 for me sometimes it takes 5 minutes up to 30 minutes but worth it in the long run
I only do this on one of my permissions as it’s the only one I have had trouble with
A main road splits the farm in to two half’s
Twice the police have rang to ask if I was still there
I would rather they ring than turn up

While under TVP, I agreed to try calling in for a month, to be fair I was on first name terms with the operators after a week as I usually went out 5-6 nights a week, the staff were great, but as there was no legal requirement I stopped it after the month trial

I do it when we have formal shoots
I just use the chat box - usually very easy and good and yes they give an incident number

Dorset Police are very good. You ring the control room directly, ask to be added to the shooting log, give your details (Who, what, when, where, how) and they provide a log reference number.....simple as! No issues last season or season before (touch wood)

A few farms I shoot are verbal permission with one being passed on through 3 people as that ground has been passed on from 2 brothers to their sister. I always text or call to have a quick chat as they will pass on good intel.

Confronted about what? Your right to be there? Shooting in general?

Right to be there and I suspect intentions, I just told him I had a right to be there and all legal and didn’t engage beyond that as it’s none of his business. I didn’t challenge his right to be there as he was trespassing but will convey this message via farmer later as addressing at time would have exacerbated the situation. I’m quite well versed in conflict resolution so happy with my approach in this respect, I’m more trying to establish quickest and easiest way of logging with police as a preemptive strike if he reports me when I’m on the ground (save everyone time and aggro)

Her foxes I wonder if she’d been as keen to claim ownership if someone wanted compensation for damage to their vehicle caused by her fox running into the road. I blame Disney

I had an interesting one the other week the local nutjob came out when I was over 250 yards from their boundary walking a hedge line screaming shouting and swearing am hour later had the daughter on the phone telling me the farm around the house ( not their land ) was a no shooting zone o have all the farmland around there for stalking when I told her that she didn’t like it and said “ we don’t want you there ! “ to which I replied you’re going to be disappointed then , the sheer entitlement is baffling , I’ve logged the interaction with the local rural crimes as she’s a known head case apparently the last couple of boyfriends have restraining orders against her

This is exactly what I do, it’s a piece of cake that way and there is no waiting, I have been called back by the police asking further information sometimes when I’m out stalking which is a pain so I recommend giving plenty of notice so you don’t get bothered when out, there is a section before something else section that is labelled (report stalking or harassment) which is pretty temping to click on
