IR for Zulus 4k

Hi, can I ask what IR torches people are using on the Zulus 4k?
Currently running the Solaris V2 but not getting a very clear picture and the flood is terrible on base mag

A mate used a Pbir and didn't like it with the Zulus 4k and changed to the Solaris SRX and it's transformed it for him massively. He loves it.
Yet it's not working for you, so maybe see if you can borrow a differnt IR torch before committing to buy another which may not be to your liking 🤷🏼‍♂️

I've got a Zulus 4k and I think it is average at night in proper darkness. Decent in the daytime and stellar at last light in the last hour for deer but as a night vision device in absolute darkness, I am not impressed really. It is nowhere near the performance of my Vulpine add on.

I use the first generation single mode variable power Solaris SRX which provides a brilliant image with other NV devices but I find the image through the Zulus 4k grainy and lacking clarity. You would struggle to sex a roe deer at 150yds with it. You could see it and shoot it but not ID it with ease.

It is also worse the more zoom you use. I do most of my night shooting on about 5-7 x magnification but even this seems too much for the Zulus. I also tried a variable power 850nm LED torch and that was worse.

It really is a very very good scope in the daytime and especially in the last hour of legal shooting for deer. The LRF and ballistic thing on it is faultless and works superbly and the recording function is dead easy to use. As a NV scope though it is average at best. You can see stuff and shoot it but with no clarity and on limited zoom choices.

I have heard people say the LL Wraith ESL is amazing and i don't doubt it is a good torch but I cannot see it turning the 4k in to an NV monster if the Solaris struggles in conjunction to resolve a decent image and I certainly am not paying the money to find out when i can just use the Vulpine and see 100's of yards with excellent detail.

Spoke with a DNT rep and he says the Zulus V2 is much better all round than the 4k.
I've got the original Zulus, the V2 and the Thermnight and like them all. After speaking to him, I won't be rushing to get the 4k.
