Tikka T1x/T3x stock compatibility

I'm looking at upgrading the stock on my T1x .22lr from the factory synthetic to something between MDT Field & XRS money wise.

I've read that stocks are compatible with both, but then the listings specify which one they are for so I'm a bit confused. Is it the bottom metal only that's different, so if I bought a T1x specific now I'd need to get T3x bottom metal in the future to make it work if I ever got a T3x?

I believe the mag inlet is different for the T1X version.

It accepts only the Tikka LR/HMR proprietary mags?

The T3/T3X version uses MDT/acis style mags....I have one on my .222

Yes i believe you are correct when you are talking about chassis with a bottom metal for ACIS mags etc. Standard Tikka stocks or something like a GRS where you use the tikka bottom metal (plastic) are pretty much universal.

I put a GRS bi frost Stock on my T1X which was made for a T3X (the T1X action has a blank plate to make it fit a T3X inlet). Made the rifle much nicer to handle and use, looks class too.

I have KRG bravo stocks on my T1X and T3X .
They are different and they are not interchangeable without modifications

Thanks, seems pretty clear then. I guess it's not a big deal at this sort of price point anyway (c.£3-500)

I am in process of taking delivery of a Tikka ACE Target in 6.5CM. Also looking to get a T1x and module to replace trigger guard unit for £80 to allow to interchange action and barrel of T1x with T3x in the ACE chassis.

I had a T1X sat in a GRS Bifrost made for a T3X. It fits just fine but the free float was ridiculously big given the difference in barrel profile

That's what I've ended up with. Can't see the float gap through the scope anyway

My krg is the same. It doesn't bother me.
At least you don't have to worry about your barrel touching the forend
