Look closely at WM Powells photos of the action and compare them to yours, especially on the bolt release side. Your action is running up towards the muzzle and there's a reason for that. I'll wager that if you remove the recoil lug the action will sit lower straight away, it's just a matter of orientating things and the action will drop into the lug and it will "look" right and likely shoot right because you are no longer stressing the action.Hey. Hmm ok. I have taken it out the stock and put it back in maybe 5 times. And every time it orientates itself like it does in my photographs.
