I once found a tortoise miles from anywhere. It lived for around fifty years in the garden.
I know mate good job I had my back to you otherwise my retinas would’ve been damaged , still it never put you off your stride

Probably an 18 year old girl so drunk she couldnt stand, called her dad, it was about 2am who was furious i woke him up.

Over the years I've had night hawkers, courting couples, roadside hampers, people shortcutting through the estate on private road,a group of army cadets.
Courting couples, especially with 2 cars present, normally leg it as I presume the oncoming headlights might be the other party's husband/wife.
Roadside lamping chaps tend to be shocked at being lamped back from the stubble, normally leg it.
One night hawker laid flat on the stubble, I drove to within 6 feet of him before getting out
never caught him again.
Locals shortcutting through estate to avoid drink driving charges also easily dealt with. I locked a gate in front of one prewarned offender, then nipped around him through the fields and locked the one he'd just came through. Estate manager met him next morning and dealt with him.
A dozen army cadets on an orienteering exercise at night,all wandering through a wood with torches, I ended up putting them aboard the Hilux and dropping them off near the next checkpoint. Doubtless they all went on to be officers they were that far off their designated route
A lot different now with thermal,the few encounters I've had with people really seems to terrify them, just approaching them really close proximity out of the pitch dark and enquiring if I can help them

Old foxing mate Alan McNutt told me how he was fox hunting with his dogs and came along the creek and then under an old bridge and as he said " there were two blokes going at it, both bearded and hairy"

caught a guy helping himself to my mates crop (curly kale)
i phoned my mate up and told him what i was seeing, he came out from his cosy house.
i watched as my mate chase the guy in his pickup until the guy jumped a ditch and tried to climb through a bramble bush about 4 feet high and 12 feet deep
somehow he got through it and ran half way across a field then just collapsed
i was watching through my thermal so could see where he was
my mate then shouted at the guy, who got back to his feet and proceeded to jog towards another ditch filled with brambles
he got through that one as well then just dropped
we left the guy and when my mate went and had a look in day light he had gone
i got a call the following morning from my mate 1 to thank me but also to say if i was out and about and saw someone cut to ribbons
just to ask if he knows of anywhere i can nick some curly kale from
